The next morning, Y/N woke up to the shine of the sunlight cracking through her window. She felt well rested, but suddenly realized she had missed her alarm. The plan that morning was to head over to Hops house with Victor to meet Leon, but he must have gone without her.
"10:00 AM?!" she gasped, as her alarm was set for an hour earlier.
She quickly jumped out of bed, and ran out towards the bathroom as her mom called her name.
"Y/N? What's wrong honey?" she questioned, as her daughter paused and turned towards her.
"Where is Victor?" she asked, getting angry.
"He just left to head to Hops house?" she replied, confused. "He told me you wanted to sleep in and you would meet up with them-" her mother paused, now realizing he had lied to her.
"We were supposed to go together." Y/N sighed. "He must have turned my alarm off while I was sleeping."
"I'm sorry, honey." she shook her head. "I'll try and talk to him when he gets back."
"Don't bother..." she scoffed, while going into the bathroom to get ready.
It had been eight years since she last saw Leon, and she had changed quite a bit. As she looked at her reflection in the mirror, she laughed at the sight of her bed head, and quickly brushed her hair then touched it up with her straightener.
After putting on some mascara and lip gloss, all that was left was getting dressed. She ran back into her bedroom to change, and saw she had an unread text from Hop.
He said: Y/N, are you coming? We've been waiting on you...
She eagerly responded: I'm about to leave, sorry! Please wait for me.
After throwing on a pair of jean shorts and a casual but trendy top, she paired her outfit with her usual sneakers. Before she left, she mother handed her her bag, and she was on her way.
As she made her way down the hill, she could see the silhouette of Victor and Hop going down route 1, and she groaned. How could they have left without her? Where were they even going?
In hopes of seeing Leon, she continued on her way towards his house. Sure enough, he was outside in the front yard standing in front of Charizard, while scratching his head. As he heard her walking up, he turned around and smiled at her immediately, causing her to feel her blood rush into her cheeks.
"Y/N? Is that you?" Leon greeted, as she tried to hide the redness taking over her features.
"Hi, Leon." Y/N smiled. "It's nice to see you."
"You too!" he exclaimed. "You've really grown up, huh?"
"Haha, yeah. I guess so." she shrugged, continuing to blush.
"And you let your hair grow!" Leon noticed, while walking towards her and picking up a strand of her long H/C hair.
"So did you." she joked, as he rubbed his hand behind his head.
"I did." he chuckled. "Anyways, I told Victor and Hop to wait for you, but you know how impatient those boys can be."
"Yeah, you're telling me..." she rolled her eyes, still annoyed at her brother.
"Well, I'm sorry you didn't get the option to choose first, but I brought a present for you three."
Leon stepped back, revealing a small white bunny like Pokémon by his feet. As he came into view, he went back to hide behind Leon's legs as Y/N got on his level.
"I brought a Pokémon for each of you, and I told the boys to wait but they 'just couldn't'." Leon laughed, while shaking his head. "This is Scorbunny, he's yours if you want it."
