Falling for a Champion (Leon x Reader)

Chapter 5

"Looks like we're almost through route 2." Hop stated. "The professors house is right up this way."

As the two boys continued walking through Wedgehurst with their new partners by their side, they had just about came up to Professor Magnolia's house.

"Do you really think she'll help us convince Lee to endorse us for the gym challenge?" Victor asked.

"I don't see why not." Hop shrugged. "Although, you could have just asked Sonia..." he teased.

"S-Shut it!" Victor snapped, while blushing.

"Oh come on Vic, you don't think she doesn't know already?" Hop laughed.

"She doesn't, and isn't going to." he rolled his eyes. "At least I'm not as hopeless as Y/N; she still likes Leon."

"Really?" Hop questioned. "I didn't know that."

"Yeah, but not like she'd ever do or say anything about it." he chuckled. "Or like she'd even have a chance with him. I'm sure he has plenty of girls all over him."

"Eh, not really." Hop told him. "He's been so focused on being Champion, he usually doesn't have time for stuff like that."

"Either way, she's in over her head."

Hop tried not to think about Y/N having feelings for his older brother, because he had his own for her. He always tried to get Victor to bring her around, but he was too stubborn and determined to continue holding a grudge against her so they didn't talk much anymore.

Hopefully, Leon would endorse the three trainers and they could travel the region together taking on the different gym challenges. Then, he would have plenty of time to hang out with her and see if she felt the same way. That is, if he could convince Victor to let her tag along.

"Look, there's the professors house. Come on, mate." Hop said, as the two boys passed over a bridge that led to the two story house that Magnolia and her granddaughter Sonia lived in.

Now at the beginning of Route 2, Leon and Y/N had just come up on a wild Skwovet. Y/N put Scorbunny down, and prepared to have a battle.

"You got this, Y/N!" Leon reassured, as she and her partner gained a boost of confidence.

Despite his timid nature, Scorbunny was a natural in battle. He quickly took down the wild pokémon, and had his first victory.

"Wow Y/N, you're a natural!" Leon praised, as she blushed.

"Thanks, Lee." she smiled, before reminding herself he only saw her as a 'little sister'.

"Let's go to Professor Magnolia's house." Leon said, while walking in the wrong direction.

"Hey, Lee? It's this way..." Y/N laughed, as his face got red.

"That's right. I knew that." he rubbed the back of his head, then started the other way.

As the two continued down route 2, they came across a few more wild Pokémon, which Y/N easily defeated. Leon was shocked to see her come out of her shell when in battle, and he thought it was cute to see this new side of her.

He never thought of her as anything other than Hop's friend or his little neighbor up the hill, but he couldn't deny her beautiful features and the fact that he felt drawn to her for some reason. Even though she had grown up to become a beautiful woman, she was still the young girl he saved in the Slumbering Weald all those years back.

Not to mention she was a few years younger than him, and if she joined the gym challenge he definitely couldn't pursue anything with her, so he just shook it off.
