The next morning, Y/N woke up to the sound of chattering outside her tent and got up to see what was going on. After sitting up and rubbing her eyes, she unzipped the tent and saw Hop and Victor already almost fully packed up and ready to go. They were clearly excited more than enough to get on their way to Hulbury to challenge Nessa.
Even though the sun was barely peeking out from behind the morning clouds, Y/N decided there was no use in trying to sleep in any more because it was only a matter of time before they were yelling at her to get up.
"Good morning, Y/N!" Hop cheered.
"Morning..." she yawned.
"Hey, there's no time to be tired. We need to get going!" Victor scolded, just as expected, causing her to roll her eyes.
"Fine." Y/N shook her head and turned towards her tent that was already partially packed up, as Hop took it upon himself to help her out.
"Wow, you didn't have to do that!" she started, "Thank you, Hop."
"No problem, N/N." he blushed. "Should we make Marnie up now, or?"
"Don't even bother." a voice from the outskirts of their camping ground groaned. "You lot were loud enough this mornin'... No chance in fighting it."
As Marnie emerged from her tent, she started to pack up things as Victor stalked over to help her. She tried to hide the smile from forming on her lips, but Y/N could see the corner of her mouth slightly twitch up.
She hadn't known Marnie for long, but could tell she had a good heart. Not to mention how she was clearly someone who wouldn't put up with or take any shit from anyone, which is exactly what Victor needed. It was only a matter of time before he came out with his feelings for her, if they weren't obvious enough already.
Once everyone was fully packed up, Y/N had Raboot out by her side and Toxel in her arms, and was ready to head to Hulbury to get her next gym badge. Right as the trainers started to make their way back on Route 5, Hop stopped in his tracks while focusing intently on his phone.
"What's wrong, Hop?" Victor asked, confused.
"Have you guys, uh..." Hop hesitated, "seen this?"
As the three others walked up to him, Hop flashed his phone towards them. On the screen showed two open tabs; the article Y/N and Marnie saw last night that Y/N hoped wouldn't see the light of day, and a new one solely based on Leon. But not just Leon; Leon in a club with girls all around him.
Hops face turned white, as Y/N's turned red.
"What is this?" Victor grabbed Hops phone, while quickly turning to Y/N. "Is there something going on between you and Leon?"
"N-no!" Y/N stammered. "I don't know what that article is, it's obviously a lie and whoever wrote it is trying to make something out of nothing."
Marnie's emotionless face helped in this situation, as she knew about the article from the night before but did not want it to be known. She stood in front of the others, and shrugged as Victor turned towards her.
"Well, I'm just saying Y/N it looks like there is something going on between you two, or I guess I should say was..."
"What do you mean?" Y/N questioned.
"Show them the other one." Hop spoke up, as the girls were puzzled.
"Right after this post about you and Leon is a brand new one showcasing Leon and a couple others out at a night club last night." Victor said, while handing Hops phone to the girls to get a better look.
