Falling for a Champion (Leon x Reader)

Chapter 9

Due to the storm that was brewing above them, Leon decided he did indeed want to stay in Y/N's tent with her that night. She allowed it, and laid out her sleeping back horizontally so the two of them could share it, while his was outside getting soaked.

As Leon laid on his back, she shared her blanket with him; it was long enough to where they both had their own space and wouldn't have to worry about getting in each others way.

Once he seemed fine for the night, she laid on her back and faced the opposite direction of him and let herself fall asleep to the sound of the rain against her tent.

As she woke up the next morning, she groggily opened her eyes at the break of dawn, to see and feel something she didn't expect. She was still facing away from Leon, but his arm was wrapped around her waist. As she slightly turned her head towards him, she noticed her back pressed against his chest and felt his breath on her neck.

She couldn't believe her eyes. What would Leon think if he woke up and saw them spooning? Would he think she purposely did this? There was no way she did this in her sleep, so did that mean he did? It was all too much to think about.

So, Y/N carefully moved his arm up, and crawled out from under him being quiet enough not to wake him up. As she got up, she let herself out of the tent to be immediately greeted by sunlight. It was a beautiful sight, so she decided to climb up the hill that was next to their campsite, and watch the morning sun rise.

Scorbunny and Eevee were both still half asleep, but rested on her lap as they enjoyed the daylight. The peace and quiet of the wild area was comforting; this was definitely something should could get used to. Especially if Leon was by her side.

He surprisingly seemed somewhat playful last night, but Y/N convinced herself he was just being friendly. It must have been uncomfortable being forced to stay with just her without the company of his brother, but he didn't seem to mind. Maybe it was all a front he put on to let her down easy, hopefully Hop or Victor didn't tell him about her feelings for him, but it would make sense why he had been so nice lately.

'Why am I so in my head about this?' Y/N thought to herself. 'Me and Leon are just friends. Nothing more. He must've accidentally moved next to me in his sleep thinking I was a pillow or something...'

Her mind kept wandering with thoughts of Leon, and she needed to clear it. She now had to switch her focus to catching more Pokémon and preparing for the gym challenge, instead of worrying about him.

As the sun was high in the sky, she looked over at the lake across from her and saw it's reflection off it. The water looked so welcoming, and then it hit her. She would go for a swim to get her mind off things, that would be sure to help.

She walked over to the tent, which had a sleeping Leon still in it, and carefully pulled her bag outside. As she grabbed a cute pink swim suit out of it, she went into a secluded area covered by bushes, and changed into it before running head first into the lake.

As she was swimming around with the wild Pokémon, she looked up to be greeted by a familiar face. Leon had just woken up, and was walking towards her.

"Well, good morning." he chuckled, as he watched her swim up to the edge.

"Good morning." she smiled, after pulling herself out of the water, now sitting outside of it. "I've been up for a while, and the water looked nice so I decided to go for a swim." she sweat dropped, hoping he would understand.

"It does look pretty nice." he chuckled. "Care if I join?"

She was surprised at his interest in joining her, but she couldn't say no. As she waved for him to come in the lake with her, he walked up to her while pulling his shirt off.
