Chapter 13

The next morning, Y/N woke up at the crack of dawn and looked over to see a still sleeping Marnie, so she decided to quietly get up and stroll around the city til the others woke up.

Although she tried to sleep in, she couldn't contain her excitement and nerves for the exciting day ahead so there was no point in trying to fight it.

After getting dressed in a casual outfit, she put on some makeup and let her hair flow down over her shoulders, and she was ready to go. Once she left the Pokémon center, she headed towards the fields near route 4 before getting stopped unexpectedly.

As Y/N was walking, all of a sudden something rammed into her causing her to fall down on her back. Scorbunny ran over to her to make sure she was okay, and thankfully enough she was.

They turned to see what hit her, and to both of their surprise it was a lone Wooloo.

"Are you lost there, buddy?" Y/N asked it, as she was still on its level.

"Wooloo!" a voice from afar shouted. "Oh my goodness... Are you okay?" a man in a white and green outfit with a straw hat asked her.

"Yes, I'm fine." Y/N smiled, as the man helped her up.

"I'm so sorry about my Wooloo..." he sweat dropped. "He tends to get away from the herd and thinks it's okay to use his tackle attack on harmless people."

"Well, it definitely caught me off guard but I'm glad you found him so quick." she smiled.

"Thank you for understanding." he sighed. "I'm Milo, the gym leader here in Turffield. You're one of the gym challengers right? Who was endorsed by Leon?"

"Yep, that's right. My name is Y/N."

"It's nice to meet you Y/N!" Milo grinned. "I knew you looked familiar. Are you planning on taking on my gym challenge today?"

"That's the plan, I think..." she giggled. "My friends are still sleeping, so I decided to get some fresh air and check out the town. It's beautiful!"

"Thank you!" Milo praised. "I do my best here to keep it in tip top shape, with the help of my herd of Wooloo of course."

"Baaahhh!" the Wooloo chirped, as the two giggled.

"I should get going... Since my gym is the first one I have trainers coming in and out of the stadium all day, so you better get yourself registered!"

"Great, I'll go do that. Thanks, Milo." Y/N smiled.

"I look forward to battling against you today!" he said, as he waved goodbye and walked towards the stadium.

Y/N dusted herself off, and picked Scorbunny up in her arms as she saw someone coming her way.

"What was all that about?" Hop, who was approaching her, asked.

"I just met Milo, and his Wooloo..." she laughed. "Nearly ran me over."

"Oh Y/N..." Hop whined. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" she reassured. "Where are the others? Milo told me we need to get ourselves registered if we want to battle him today."

"They're still at the Pokémon center, getting ready to eat some breakfast. I told them I would come out and look for you."

"Oh! Thanks Hop. Let's go eat then head to the stadium!" Y/N cheered, as she grabbed his hand and pulled him back into town.

Once they met up with Victor and Marnie, on the table in front of them was two plates full of food ready for Hop and Y/N. They thanked them, and sat down to eat while Y/N told them of her eventful morning with Milo.
