Falling for a Champion (Leon x Reader)

Chapter 7

The four of them made their way down Route 1 and back towards Wedgehurst to get to the train station. There, they would get on and have the option to stop in either the wild area or go straight to Motostoke. Leon suggested stopping in the wild area so the three could get in some training and also focus on adding to their teams.

As they loaded onto the train, they walked towards and empty booth, and sat down. Hop and Victor sat next to each other of course, leaving an open seat next to Leon. Y/N sat down, and scooted in but not too close.

"You guys excited?" Leon asked, as the three nodded.

"I'm excited to become the next champion!" Hop exclaimed.

"Not if I get there first." Victor teased, as Hop shook his head.

The boys both bickered on who was going to become champion while Y/N laughed, then turned her attention away from them and started looking out the window. She and her brother were born in Wyndon, but had not been back since they moved away, and now that she really thought about it, she hadn't been anymore besides Postwick and Wedgehurst.

"What are you thinking about, Y/N?" the purple haired boy next to her asked, catching her off guard.

"Oh, uh..." she hesitated, while pointing out the window then changing her gaze from his eyes back to the scenery. "I just didn't know how pretty Galar was. Once we moved to Postwick from Wyndon, we never left."

"Oh wow!" he exclaimed. "You're going to love the journey you're about to embark on. Galar is beautiful."

Leon was surprised that someone as beautiful as Y/N hadn't been out to see the glorious views within the region. He was excited to show her everything, and hoped he could stay along with them as long as possible.

'I need to stop this...' Leon thought to himself, as he caught himself studying her features. 'I've never seen her in this way before, why now?' Suddenly, he felt and heard snaps now in front of his face.

"Earth to Leon?" Hop joked, pulling his hand back.

"Sorry, what'd you say?" Leon sweat dropped.

"I asked how long til we get to the wild area." Hop laughed.

"Uh," Leon thought, while looking out the window. "I'd say about another hour."

"An HOUR?" Hop whined. "I want to start training my team now though."

"Just be patient." Leon laughed, as he asked Y/N to scoot over so he could get out of the booth.

She stood up and got out of his way, and he walked out of the cart towards another one as the three were left alone. As they sat there, they all played on their phones til Victor set his down and spoke up.

"Are you going to try to catch any Pokémon, Y/N?" he asked her, catching her off guard. She didn't know why he cared, when he typically wanted nothing to do with her.

"Um, I'd like to." she told him, while pulling Scorbunny into her arms. "I just don't know which kind yet."

"I'm sure you'll find some in the wild area." Victor smiled at her, while she and Hop both seemed surprised to see his sudden change of attitude towards her.

As the group kept talking, Leon came back into their car with a big box of pizza in his hands. As he set it down in front of them, he handed out plates after he opened the box and passed them out. They each took two pieces, and began eating.

After about thirty minutes, they were finally arriving at their stop. Once they walked off the train, they came into the station and purchased a couple items at the pokemart, then made their way out.
