Dark roots

Chapter 7

It was getting late and it started to get dark outside when we arrive just a few blocks away from the prison. We all got out of the truck and walked over to the prison whilst following Rudy who was leading the way.

Once we had a visual on the prison, we stopped and crouched down to take a better look at our surroundings. Both Ghost and Soap took out their snipers and used the scopes to look ahead.

"Hold up, patrols on the outside of the prison."

The team took out the guards that were just outside the walls of the prison, patrolling without a clue of what was happening around them. They took them out before Soap and Ghost used their sniper to kill the two men that where standing guard in the tower on top of the prison.

Once they cleared the field and the tower of hostiles, it was safe to move up to the prison wall right underneath the tower where they just killed the guards. Rudy takes the plummet-gun and shoots a rope over the railing making the rest drop on the ground.

Soap pulled at the rope to make sure it was a good hook. I stared to the top and started to feel nervous with how high that was. I may not have been my best idea to join them on this mission. Ghost turns to look at me so he could show me how it works.

"You got this." He whispered to me.

He went first to secure the tower and make sure it was safe to come up. After he gave the green light, it was my turn. Soap was kind enough to help me out again, and when I reached the top, Ghost helped me over the railing. The rest of the team quickly follows behind until we all linked back up at the tower.

I quietly follow ghost as we made our way towards the control room. He opens the door and eliminates the two man who were on the CCTV's. Rudy goes towards the CCTV and I use their laptop to hack into the security camera's. Ghost turns to Soap to address him quietly but I could still hear him.

"You should stay here, cover them in case they need help."

"No we're good, you shouldn't go alone anyway." I told Ghost who looked a bit annoyed at me. I kept his eyes contact and gave him a cute innocent little smile, which made sigh in respond.

"Fine, keep this door shut, radio me if anything is wrong. Rudy watch for her will you." He said running his hand over his face, or well mask. He gave me one last quick glare before he turned around and left the control room.

They had given me an extra set of coms which would help me speak to the team. I placed the earpiece in my ear and pressed the button of the radio to see if they worked. They both told me that they could hear me loud and clear, and once I hacked into their security system we were good to go.

"You're clear to move past the gate." I said, giving them the green light. I watched them on the little screen in front of me while they opened the gate and went through it. They quickly took cover behind a crate.

"Ghost two shadows on your right, 2 o'clock."

He takes them out like it's nothing. We continued this for another 30 minutes, where I kept giving them directions and callouts while they made their way through the prison to plant the bombs on the cars. We just finished placing the distractions when Rudy spoke.

"I've located Alejandro, he seems to be in solitary." Rudy spoke to me.

"Guys we found Alejandro, he is in a cell on the first floor." I informed the others.

"Let's RV outside." Soap suggested.

We placed our gear back in our bags and got outside where we linked back up with the others. Ghost seemed relieved and happy to see me, running his eyes over my body to make sure I was alright.
