GHOST POV:
Dread filled my body after hearing those words. I looked around the base and saw so many dead bodies. It all happened so quick, Ashley hadn't told us there were any issues when she was on coms earlier. But right now the base looked like a battlefield.
The man in front of us was bleeding badly, he was desperate to get out of here but a single shot was fired and the Shadow fell lifeless to the ground.
Price was the first to react, he reached for his gun and shot the Konni soldier dead. I followed right behind Price as we walked further inside, towards the gunfire.
We stood right in front of the doors to the cafeteria, the place where the gunfire came from. Price opened the door and we stormed inside. Together with the remaining Shadows, we cleared the room of Konni soldiers.
After we walked through the whole base to make sure there weren't any more hostiles around, did we meet back up in front of the main building. A few Shadows stood near us, waiting for orders.
Graves and Gaz had been on their way to Vostok, they got on a plane the second we learned about Makarov buying properties there. It would still be a while before we'd hear back from them.
Shepard was nowhere to be found, nor had I seen Ashley anywhere. Price took the lead and ordered them to get rid of the dead bodies. Roach made his way over to us, blood was dripping down his face and he seemed beaten up.
"Where is she?" The shake in Jhonny's voice was unmistakeable.
"Shepard relocated her to a bunker at the back of the base," Roach let out a painful sigh. "I tried to fight them of but there were so many. I lost sight of the rest of the team."
"You did well." Price praised him and guided him towards the medical bay to be checked for injuries.
Jhonny and I made our way to the bunker Roach talked about. As we got closer, we saw more dead bodies lying on the ground. The door to the dunker was open and we took a quick look around but nobody was inside.
We checked the bodies, but there was still no sign that Ashley was here. The only other explanation was that Konni group got to them before they could transport her here.
My heart dropped, it was like someone threw a cold bucket of water over me when I realized that Makarov has my girl. Makarov has some unresolved hatred towards both me and Jhonny, I feared that the sick bastard will use her to get to us.
"Where is she LT?" Jhonny's voice cracked, it was filled with emotions.
"Makarov must have her."
Jhonny slammed his hand against the wall and let out his frustration. I knew exactly how he felt but we needed to think straight if we wanted to get her back safely.
I rested my hand on his arm, the muscles in his shoulders slightly relaxed and he let out a deep breath. We took a moment to calm down before we walked back to Price and the others.
Once we reached him, I told him about what we found. Apparently Shadow Company had managed to capture some Konni soldiers and kept them imprisoned in the holding cells.
We walked over to the holding cells, 5 Konni soldiers were sitting tied up against a chair. A big iron door separated us from them. I followed behind Price as we entered the room.
We had been at this interrogation for hours. But no matter what we did, none of the soldiers would talk. They were all faithfully loyal to that bastard Makarov and wouldn't give up any information on Makarov's whereabouts or what happened with Ashley.
