Chapter 40

JHONNY POV:

I was the first one to wake up after having a great night of rest. Ashley's arm was firmly wrapped around my middle, a deep satisfying sound left her lips as she snuggled deeper into my side.

My arms tightened around her in a big hug, with one hand I rubbed small circles on her back while my other hand was in her hair. Happiness washed over me every time I looked down at her adorable sleepy face, I couldn't resist overloading her with tons of sweet kisses.

A big smile was shown on her face as she opened those beautiful blue eyes that stared directly into mine, stealing my breath away..

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. Go back to sleep." I said as I placed my hand over her eyes.

"There are far worse ways to wake up to." She laughed. Seeing her struggle to remove my hand forced a chuckle out of my mouth.

On her other side, Simon was also starting to wake up. His arm hang around her waist, pulling her closer against his chest before burying his face in the crook of her neck.

I moved to lay on my side so I could look at them better. They seemed so happy and in love, I felt blessed to be a part of it. Even when huge obstacles are thrown in their way, they find their way back to each other.

I used to envy that, but seeing the happy look on Ashley's face and how she looks at me with nothing but love, tells me that she cares deeply about me.

Sharing her with Simon might sound difficult at first but I loved him, he was like a brother I never had. And I know he secretly thinks the same way, even if he'd never admit it. The three of us make a pretty good day.

"Isn't this weird for you guys? To see me with the other?" She asked curiously.

"Not at all, thanks to you I went from not knowing who was behind the mask to seeing both his face and dick in the same day." I joked.

Ashley immediately started laughing, but Simon didn't seem too amused, he stared at me with a challenging look in his eyes. That look used to scare me to death when I first met him but now it only fuels my amusement.

"It makes me happy to see you this happy. And if that means having to deal with Jhonny even more than usual, then so be it." Simon said running his nose along Ashley's cheek.

"Oh don't lie to her, I know you secretly love me too." I teased him again. Ashley was caught in a fit of laughter by now. With a big grin on my face, I looked from her to Simon.

My statement was followed by a silence, he didn't immediately agree with it but he also didn't deny it. I could only take it as a win, knowing the big scary Ghost soldier cared about me.

After lying in bed for a few more minutes, we got ready to leave to get some breakfast. We made our way to the kitchen and grabbed some sandwiches before heading to the conference room. Yesterday Shepard had planned a meeting to go over some intel.

We entered the room where Price and Gaz were already waiting for us. We sat down as we waited for the others to join us. After everybody sat down around the big round table, Chloe's eyes were fixated on Ashley who was sitting right in between us, laughing at something Simon said.

The jealous look on Chloe's face had me worried. Now that we had finally worked things out and the three of us were happy, I couldn't just stand by and let Chloe come in between us. I'm going to have to keep an eye out.

Shepard started the meeting by providing us the with the details of his intel, a woman called Milena Romanova, Makarov's financier. She was hiding on a private island, on the big screen in front of us were blueprints displayed that showed us a clear picture of the island.
