Soap POV:
After another successful mission, we were able to capture three Chinese PMC's that were responsible for the disappearance of a dozen shipments that were send by countries to support and provide their allies with firearm in the war they were fighting.
Only they never made it to their destination, we had no idea that this was happening. If it wasn't for Shepard and the information we got from his laptop last week, we wouldn't know that these PMC's used the stolen weapons and sell them to the organization that sells them off in a black market auction, only for the highest bidder to do with them whatever they'd want.
The thought of it alone made me sick, the auction we had been to a few days ago was filled with powerful people. From world leaders to wanted criminals and terrorist organizations, all happily buying illegal weapon under the same roof. We can't immediately stop these auctions from happening, so we'll have to be happy with these small victories. It's something Price always says whenever I get mad, I hated injustice, especially because the only people who'd suffer were the innocent people I swore to protect.
Laswell had arranged an exfil for us, and we were now in the car on our way to the LZ. Apparently the PMC's next to me was called Chang, he started complaining about it being illegal to take him in for questioning, that's rich coming from him.
It didn't take us too long to arrive at the airport where a plane was waiting for us to go back to base. We had boarded the plan and cuffed the PMC's to the chair so they couldn't get away and cause any more issues when all of a sudden we heard people screaming behind us, followed by the sound of someone shooting a gun.
I turned around to look at Price and we both sprinted out of the plane to take a better look at what was going on around us. People were running in all directions, all away from the airport. The windows on the side of the airport broke and the panicked screams of people entered our ears.
"Maria and Frost, you stay here and make sure these three don't try anything. The rest comes with me to check out what is going on."
I was already outside of the plane with my rifle in my hand, ready to interfere in case needed. I followed behind Price, running towards the side entrance of the building. We stayed close together, slowly making our way through the building, guiding the innocent people that were on the run towards safety. At first there were afraid to pass us, but once they noticed we were military, they moved out of our ways, making it easier for us to pass.
We were halfway through the gates when we decided to split up, Price and Gaz went to the baggage claim while I took Roach and went to the centre of the airport where all the little shops were. A loud explosion went of, making the ground underneath us shake.
"What was that?" Roach yelled from behind me.
"Bomb!" My hand quickly went towards my comms so I could enlighten the rest of the team. "Price they're using bombs at the entrance of the airport, do you have any visual?"
"Negative, baggage claim is clear. We're moving to the entrance, be aware."
Movement in the hallway on our right caught my attention. I gestured for Roach to stop, I pointed to the shop on our right and he walked around to attack him from a different angle. I crouched down behind the wall before I peeked around the corner to see a man with a gun in his hand, shooting at the people that were hiding from him as well as the people who were running from him.
"Price, I have visual on the shooter, he is in the north hallway in between the shops and the airplanes. Engaging now." I informed him.
The shooter had to reload and this was the perfect time to engage. I sprinted towards the man but he turned around and I froze in place when he reached his gun towards me. A shot was fired, a second past and I opened my eyes to realize I wasn't hit. Looking down at the man in front of me, he had fallen to his knees.
