ASHLEY POV

After I was certain that Jhonny and Simon were safely on the speedboat and on their way back to the base, did I disconnect the coms. I was tidying up the place when I heard a sound outside the door.

I stayed silent for a moment so I could listen to what was going on, but it was quiet again so I continued to grab my things. All of a sudden the door flew open and I jumped up to my feet.

Two Shadows entered the room, followed by Shepard who had a sour look on his face. He was clearly in a bad mood, I had no idea what pissed him off nor did I care.

"Let's go." He said and without waiting for a reply, he turned around and left the room.

The two Shadow soldiers waited by the door until I walked past them. It was weird for them to follow me like this but I didn't immediately think anything of it. That was until the sound of gunfire reached my ears.

"Hurry up, we don't have all day."

"Where are we going?" I asked him but he just ignored me.

I followed close behind him as we walked through the halls of the main building. Shepard stopped at the emergency door and opened it. Alarm bells started ringing inside of me so I just quietly stuck close behind him.

We walked out of the building, deeper into the base and away from the noise. Shadow soldiers ran past us with their guns firmly pressed against their chest, they were running in the opposite direction of us.

"Shouldn't we help them?" I asked while I looked over my shoulder. It didn't feel right to leave them alone, even if I couldn't fight, I wanted to help.

"They can take care of themselves, unlike you." Shepard mumbled that last part but I still heard him.

I was taken aback by his sudden rudeness, to my recognition I didn't piss him off lately. There was a big bunker right in front of us, when we heard yelling from behind us.

Shepard took my arm in a tight grip and pulled me inside, he tried to lock the bunker but something from the outside was working against him. Shots were fired and I heard voices right outside the bunker, they were yelling at us but it wasn't in English.

It took me till right now to realize that it must me Makarov's man that attacked the base. And now they were right outside this wall, attempting to get inside.

My hands were shaking from how nervous I was feeling. I was even holding my breath, and tried to listen to the noises that came from outside. It was quiet for a second, but then a loud bang came from the other side and the door slightly opened.

Multiple soldiers stormed inside the bunker, they immediately went to Shepard and knocked him out before tying his hands behind his back. I stood frozen to my spot when one of them moved towards me.

My breath got caught in my throat when he stood right in front of me, he was looking me up and down before his eyes locked on mine. The scary look he had in his eyes gave me nervous goosebumps.

Another soldier moved to stand behind me, he strongly gripped my hands and forced behind my back before tying them together. I stood there frozen until finally my fight or flight sense kicked in.

I quickly moved to the side so I could run out of the bunker and away from them. But right after I took a step, the soldier behind me pulled on my arm and forced me back.

He mumbled something in annoyance before he bend down in front of me, with his shoulder pressing against my stomach, he lifted me over his shoulder and was carrying me outside.

I was hanging over the man's shoulder and couldn't see anything except his back, he came to a stop at the gate. He placed me down on the ground and I turned around to see my dad standing there.
