"Okay Mr. Hines you are good to go." I said flipping through the pages on my clipboard.

"Alrighty." The older man grunted trying to get up.

"Let me help you sir." I place my clipboard down, and walk towards the older man, helping him up from the hospital bed.

"Thank you young man." He said making his way to the door.

"No problem." I open the door and he walks out, with me following behind, I silently sigh and close the door behind me.

"Oh— and Mr. Hines?" I asked.

"What is it?" He questions turning around.

"Please take your medicine, I don't want you to end up back in here." I look at him seriously, when deep down I knew he wasn't going to listen to me.

It was like he was waiting to die.

Just like I was.

"Well change the darn pill into a liquid form, then maybe I'll think about it— just maybe." He said walking away.

I nodded, and gave an awkward laugh and made eye contact with the ground. "I'll do that right away sir, have a good night."

I waved at him as he got further and further away, when he turns the corner, I sigh and drop my hand to my side, and I blankly stare in the distance.

Before turning around and walking back to room I was just in. It was exhausting putting on a façade, especially in front of my parents.

They never approved of anything I did, it was always too weird or stupid to them.

I could never think for myself they always did it for me. My education, who I dated, and who I was friends with.

It got really tiring trying to be who I wanted to be in front of them, so tiring that I just let them mold me into the person that they wanted me to be.

"Oh my god— please help us!" A large group of people rushes into the hospital.

Doctors and nurses rush over and grabs the patient placing him on a stretcher, before asking what happened to him.

"We were at a party when he got shot!" One of the many men and women said panicking.

I stood there completely frozen unable to move, with wide eyes. The man's shirt was torn, his blood was dripping everywhere soaking his clothes, and his head was bobbing trying to stay conscious.

They rush past me to the emergency room, some people pushing me in the process. My back hits the door as my eyes follow them.

"Hey newbie! we're in need of some help, come check his vitals!" I snap out of my trance, and run down the hallway pushing past the group of people, shutting the door behind me so they wouldn't get in.
