SET AFTER 7X20
Spencer is nervous that they're having twins because of what happened with her and Alex and Toby tries to reassure her that everything will be okay.

"You were pretty quiet on the way home." Toby said to Spencer as they walked through the door of their loft, they were living there while Toby was having their dream house rebuilt for obvious reasons, but they were happy to be staying in the loft because of all of the memories it held for them, which was why Toby couldn't bring himself to part with it.
Anyway, they had just gone to Spencer's five months ultrasound appointment for their baby, and they found out that they're actually having twins. Twin girls. To say that Spencer was still in a bit of shock was an understatement.
"Yeah... I'm sorry about that... I'm just processing." Spencer said as she walked over to sit down on the couch. Toby walked over and he sat down next to her, he could tell that she was struggling and trying to hide her emotions, which wasn't a good idea. He was worried about her, and he wanted to help her, however he could.
"Spencer, how many times do I have to tell you that you never have to say you're sorry?" Toby said as he smiled softly at her and she smiled slightly at him, but then she turned her head away from him. "Spencer," Toby said, the concern was evident in his voice. "It's not you, I promise. It's nothing." Spencer said, she still wasn't looking at him.
"So something is bothering you." Toby said, Spencer didn't say anything, and that worried him even more. "Talk to me, babe." Toby said gently. "There's nothing to talk about. I'm alright." Spencer said, but he obviously wasn't buying that.
"Spencer. I know you better than that. Something's wrong." Toby said, and she finally sighed in defeat. She knew that she needed to talk about it, and he's the only one that she can truly talk to about anything, but especially about this.
"Okay, okay. You're right. I can't hide anything from you. Not that I was trying to, you know that I never want to do that, again. I just -" Spencer said before sighing, she then put her head in her hands. "Spencer, you know that you can talk to me about anything." Toby said as he put his hand on her shoulder comfortingly and she finally turned her head back to look into his eyes again, and he could see the tears in hers.
"I'm scared." Spencer finally admitted, her voice was now just above a whisper. Toby immediately grabbed her hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.
"Because of the twins." He said and Spencer nodded. "I know it probably sounds crazy-"
"Spencer, no it doesn't. Especially not to me.
It's understandable after what you've been through. What... she put us through...
I could sense that something was off when we got the news, I could see the wheels turning in your head. I figured what was bothering you, but I didn't want to push you. But let me tell you something, you don't have anything to worry about, Spence. It's going to be okay." Toby said, trying to comfort her. "I really want to believe that..." Spencer said, trailing off. "Then believe it." Toby said gently. "I-I know that we were hoping for a daughter, but.... Twins. That's definitely something that we didn't discuss. I guess I should've expected this, huh? I guess it's karma or something, for me.... After everything.... And it's seriously not fair. I mean the absolute last thing I want is to fail our girls." Spencer said before she looked down again. It was breaking his heart to see her doubting and blaming herself like this.
"Hey, look at me." Toby said softly and she lifted her head back up, tears falling down her cheeks and he gently wiped them away with his thumbs. "I want you to hear me when I tell you this, okay?" He said and she nodded. "Our girls are not going to end up like you and- she who shall not be named. They will grow up together, and they're gonna love the heck out of each other. We are going to take care of them and be the best parents that they deserve. And you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about, Spence. None of what happened was your fault, and you certainly didn't deserve any of it. You are the best person I know," Toby said and Spencer smiled slightly at him.
"I don't want you to be worried about our girls. You could never fail them, and you won't. They're going to be beautiful, strong, ambitious, kind, courageous, and tenacious. Just like their mother." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "Y-you think so.?" Spencer asked him. "I know so." Toby said as he pressed his forehead gently against hers.
"And I don't want you to doubt yourself, either. You're going to be an amazing mother, and you have me. I'm going to be right there with you the whole way, you know that." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "I do know that. And I'm so grateful for you. And I know that I shouldn't be stressing myself out... but I can't help it, the worst case scenario scares the crap out of me." Spencer said, she wished she could just fully erase her nerves. "You trust me, don't you?" Toby asked her. "Is that a trick question?" Spencer asked him, they both laughed softly. "Well, I see your sense of humor is still intact." Toby said as he gave her a small smile. "A little bit, yeah. Of course I trust you, more than anyone else. You know that." Spencer said, smiling slightly. "Good. We are a team and we've more than proved that we can get through anything together. Like I said, it's going to be okay. Everything is going to be okay." Toby said as he tried to reassure her again. "You promise?" Spencer asked. "I promise." Toby said before he gently kissed her forehead, she smiled softly at him.
"You feel better now?" Toby said as he looked at her, she nodded her head. "Yeah, I do. You're right, I know that. I just-" "Spence, you don't need to apologize. Now, how many times have I told you that you never have to say you're sorry?" Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "Too many for me to count at this point." Spencer said and they both laughed softly. "Yeah. And my point is, Don't apologize. I get it. You know that." Toby said
as he stroked her hair gently. "I know, but still…. Anyway, thank you, for listening, and understanding. You always know what to say to make me feel better." Spencer said, smiling softly at him. "You never have to thank me either, especially not for that. But you're welcome." Toby said, giving her a small smile.
"Now, I'm going to just fully let myself focus on the positive and let myself truly be happy." Spencer said, smiling. "That sounds perfect to me. You know, you three are my world. I'd do anything for you. My girls." Toby said as he smiled softly at her before putting his hand on her baby bump and she couldn't help but smile as she watched him.
"What would we do without you?" Spencer said. "You don't have to worry about that. You're stuck with me, Spence. Now, let's go back to focusing on the positive. We're going to be parents. And our girls are going to be spoiled in the best possible way. Everything is going to be okay." Toby said as he smiled, looking up at her. "Yeah, and I certainly can't argue with them." Spencer said, smiling as she put her hand on top of his. "No, no you can't." Toby said. "I love you so much." Spencer said, smiling at him. "Hey, I wanted to say that first." Toby said as Spencer laughed, then she happily kissed him and Toby kissed her back. He kissed her back softly at first, then he deepened it passionately. He loves her so much, and he was going to continue to do whatever he could to make sure that Spencer doesn't doubt herself again, and that she never forgets how much she means to him. Spencer couldn't be more grateful for her safe place to land and how he always knows exactly how to make her feel better. She refuses to let her worries and doubts take over her brain anymore, instead she's going to focus on the fact that she's here, safe with Toby, and that they're going to be happily raising their girls together.
They're finally getting their happily ever after.
