"Hold on tight!" Said the Doctor as the Tardis began to set off.

"Woooahhhhhahwhwhwhwww" yelled Bill and Ted, clutching at each other so they didn't fall over. The Doctor was trying to say something to Gerard but he couldn't make it out over the incessant roar of the Tardis' engines.

"WHAT?" Asked Gerard, his own voice muffled by the blood rushing through his ears. The Doctor tried to carefully mouth something, using exaggerated eyebrow movements. The other crew members of the Tardis looked on with confusion as they held on for dear life while being jiggled around by the journey through wormholes.

"WHAT?" asked Gerard again, the Doctor shook his head and threw up his hands in frustration, then quickly held on again and edged his way along the control panel. He mouthed something at Gerard which looked like "Watch this" and Gerard raised his eyebrows expectantly.

He gave Gerard a wink and then suddenly halted the Tardis in mid air.

Everyone was suddenly flung against whatever surface was nearest them.

"Oof" Gerard winced "Doctor, what the fuck are we doing?"

The Doctor just grinned at him mysteriously and opened the door of the Tardis.

"Holy-" Frank murmured as they all gazed, transfixed, out of the wooden blue doors.

The Tardis had stopped- although it was still bobbing gently- in the middle of nowhere. All that surrounded them for as far as the eye could see in every direction was a terrifyingly vast expanse of nothingness. Twinkling galaxies and faraway planets in the distance, each as meaningless as the next. Where or when they had stopped seemed irrelevant and impossible to tell.

Gerard held his breath and edged towards the door, gripped by a strange sensation that scared him yet pulled him forwards at the same time.

"Pretty cool right" the Doctor beamed gleefully at him.

"How..." Gerard was unable to form words for a second

"How are we not dying?"

"Ooh haha don't worry about it, all very technical stuff wouldn't want to bore you with it" explained the Doctor casually

"Never stopped you before" said Rose

"Whatever" said The Doctor, he turned to Gerard expectantly "want to go out?"

Rose squealed "Say yes omg Gerard you'll love it"

"Go out......... there?" Gerard stuttered, his face paling.

"Yah if you want" the time lord shrugged and took Gerard's hand in his "it's easy, just step out" he nudged the emo gently towards the door.

Gerard looked down at his battered trainers hanging over the edge into nothingness, before he close his eyes and took a step.

"Oh, and don't let go!" The doctor called out, slightly too late as Gerard's fingers slipped from his and he began to slowly float away.

"Woah there tiger" the Doctor quickly grabbed ahold of Gerard's ankle before he disappeared forever.

"OMFG" Called Gerard "THIS IS SO FRICKING COOL!!" he put his arms out like wings and pretended to fly about.

"Dude that looks MOST EXCELLENT!" Bill gasped

"That's enough of that" laughed the Doctor, pulling Gerard back into the Tardis after he'd had about five minutes.

"Aww" Gerard pouted "Frank you should totally try that! It was incredible!"

"Uh uh" Frank shook his head vigorously "now way, absolutely no way. Shits scary man!"

"Can I try?" Piped up Ray nervously

"Of course you can Raymond!"

"It's just Ray" said Ray

"Woahhoohahaha" Ray squeaked in a small voice as he gingerly stepped out into the cold empty vacuum of endless beautiful space. The Doctor gripped tightly on his ankle as he began to float away.

"What's it like out there Ray?" Mikey called out curiously, peering out from a safe distance.

"I feel so.... tiny.." Ray replied, his voice full of wonder.

"Welcome to the club" said Frank

"Oh the sublime" the Doctor nodded to himself wisely "Right, who's next?"

"ME ME ME ME ME!" Chanted Bill and Ted together, hopping up and down and raising their hands in the air.

Once every single member of the Tardis had had a go at 'flying' (except for Frank who still refused ferociously) they finally set off again.

"LETS GO TO SIXTY NIIIINE" yelled Bill and Ted, miming playing guitars.

"69 BCE it is then!" Smiled the Doctor, setting the Tardis once again on her course "hold on tight everyone!"
