The screams of The Doctor and Rose Tyler as they hurtled through a wormhole in space-time were muffled by the vacuum of empty space surrounding the seemingly small blue box the two were traveling in.
"Doctor! What's happening?" Yelled Rose, clinging to the side of the control panel and trying desperately not to throw up.
"Uhhm a glitch in the system!" Explained the Doctor over the roar of the tardis.
He was fiddling anxiously with the buttons, levers and switches with one hand, while the other hand held his sonic screwdriver that he was pointing at everything in the ship.
Sparks flew from the dashboard.
"I'm trying to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow!"
"Doctor-" began Rose, but she was cut off by the sudden jolt of the tardis as they entered the atmosphere of a planet and plundered towards the surface.
The tardis made a familiar noise as it landed and The Doctor could tell even without looking where they were.
"What planet are we on?" Asked Rose once she had recovered from the traumatic journey and regained her ability to stand without being sick.
"Why don't you find out" grinned the doctor shakily, motioning towards the exit.
Rose opened the small blue doors and gasped.
"We're Home"
The Doctor stepped out next to her and put his arm around her.
"London, your time."
He looked at her and smiled. "What do you want to do first"
"See mum." Rose said certainly "How long have I been away?"
"Only a few weeks for her"
"Feels like years, can't wait! You want to come?"
The doctor thought for a moment then shook his head "Nah, have her to yourself for a change, I'll explore."
Rose smiled at him and ran off.
The doctor waited a few more minutes before stepping fully out of the tardis and looking around.
The box had landed in the city centre, no one had seen them arrive but it didn't matter if they saw now because from the outside the tardis just looked like an ordinary police box. Passers by didn't give it a second thought.
It looked to be about early evening, nearby The Doctor could see a cluster of emo teens queuing up outside of a gig venue, the Pavillion.
Wonder what's on, he thought and joined them. Behind him the queue gradually built up until it went almost twice around the block and the doctor was glad he had gotten there sooner.
"Front row seats here I come" he murmured cheerfully to himself as he got to the front.
"Tickets please mate" said the guy at the door.
"Here" said the doctor, pointing his sonic screwdriver in the man's face. "Try that for a ticket"
"Uhhh g go right in s sir" slurred the guy, hypnotised from the blast.
"Don't mind if I do" smirked the Doctor smugly jostling himself to the front of the crowd.
"This better be good" he thought as the lights went down and the band entered onto the stage.
The crowd started going crazy and it was clear that this was the headliner act.
"Don't even have an opening band." Tutted the doctor, shaking his head and rolling his eyes in despair at what earth had come to.
"Thank you thank you London" Said the main singer in a New Jersey accent he had longish dark hair and red make up around his eyes.
"We are My Chemical Romance!"
The crowd screamed again, hanging on to every word the man said. The doctor could swear the girl behind him was actually drooling.
"I love you gerard!" Someone screamed.
The doctor rolled his eyes again.
Sure, he could admit, the main singer was pretty attractive. Not his usual type but definitely easy on the eyes.
But even so, not even the handsomest man in the world could create music that would impress the Doctor.
He'd experienced every sound possible, and even some not. From every dimension, planet and time. Not to say he didn't enjoy a bit of 200th century jazz or a classical planet Zonk ballade here and there.
But all in all he did not expect to be impressed by some guy in a club in 2005 London.
That was probably why he almost fainted when he heard the two guitarists play the most incredible opening riff he'd heard before the main singer began
"Well if you wanted honesty that's all you had to say"
The doctor's chin fell to the floor as the tune entered his brain like a drug.
"This is......... incredible" he gaped.
Soon he was screaming and moshing and fist pumping as enthusiasticly as the rest of the crowd. If not more so.
"IM NOT OOOKAYYY" He yelled along with the singer, tears forming in his eyes.
"IM NOT O-FUCKING-KAY" Gerard screamed into the mic and the doctor could swear he was looking straight into his eyes. The crowd surged and the whole venue felt alive. The shorter of the guitarists was writhing on the floor, the bassist had even cracked the tiniest of smiles, which even the doctor could tell was rare.
After 45 of one of the loudest, sweatiest and happiest minutes of the Doctor's life, the show was finally done.
And the crowd went wild.
"AAAHHHH WOOOO MORRREE!!!!" Shrieked the Doctor, making heart eyes at the singer, who blew him a kiss which just made him shriek even louder.
