3rd pov:

it was an intense game against shiratorizawa, both teams neck and neck against each other. ushijima wasn't panicking at all, he was still emotionless, not a question in his mind, they would be sure to win the match. he had his teammates, he had his strength, he was sure to win. with his spikes, tendous blocks, shirabus sets, he was sure to win. but, inarizaki also had an amazing team. with the twins quick attack, arans power, and sunas power, they were sure to win too.

shirabu set the ball, it was ushijimas favorite kind of set. the ace jumped and pulled back, looking at the blockers hands before aiming for the one that looked the weakest. their middle blockers right hand, rintarō suna. as the powerful spike hit his hand, it pushed it back, going right through it and landing on inarizakis side. all the players on the court heard a very prominent crack. and suna was in shock at first so he didn't see it. he didn't even realize something was wrong until he head heard the red headed middle blocker on the other team start to gag. not playful or teasing gag, actually gagging like he was going to throw up. ushiwaka also grimaced but was more fascinated that his hands had done that.

suna felt the pain shooting through his entire arm, quickly grabbing his hand and hiding his fingers. he held them in place so they wouldn't move and hurt. he dropped down into a crouch, holding his hands to his chest as pain contorted on his face. he felt the bones crack on impact but he didn't register it. he didn't realize it was real. but now the pain shooting through his whole arm, it made it real. tendou had a strong stomach but he watched as the opposing middle blockers fingers got bent back and snapped, he listened to the wet snap of the fingers. he had run off fhe court finding the nearest trash can to empty his lunch into.

tendou wasn't the only one feeling nauseated by it, atsumu looked green in the face. he had been next to suna during the block and he heard it. he heard the snap. he was trying not to gag but he couldn't help it. the ace was also feeling sick to his stomach. he had never seen a spike with so much force. everyone knew the middle blocker was injured so a time out was called. the shiratorizawa team was told to sit down and wait while inarizaki got it figured out.

the team huddled around suna who was still on the ground and refusing to say anything. he was too focused on the pain pulsating in his hand. "suna," a calm voice spoke, crouching down next to him. it was the captain. kita placed a soft hand on his back, rubbing it up and down to soothe the middle blocker. "can we see your hand?" he asked, holding out his other hand to try and take sunas hand. suna only recoiled his hand more, hiding it into his body. he didn't want to look. he didn't want to see how bad it was. it hurt bad enough. aran finally got his stomach to settle so he wasn't threatening to throw up at the moment. "um..suna, we need to see your hand." aran said, trying to coax suna out to show his hand. "suna. show us the hand." the coach finally spoke up, being more firm with the middle blocker. he didn't want to show his hand. he didn't want to face it.

osamu still hadn't even spoken up. he was too scared. suna was on the ground in pain and he was scared. he had caused many people to get sick to their stomachs just by looking at it or hearing it. but finally he bit the bullet and slowly crouched down. "rintarō," he whispered, watching as suna stared down at the ground intensely. "rin," he spoke again to get his attention. finally, suna actually looked up at one of his teammates. "it's okay. you're okay." he whispered, slowly reaching out and grabbing both of sunas hands, his left one still holding the right. "just look at me. its okay." he whispered, not a single person on the team had ever seen him coddle anyone like that. but he needed to. he needed to be there for suna. "just look at me. kita will look at your hand. don't look at it. just focus on me." his voice was much more gentle and soothing.

osamu brought his hand up and placed it on his cheek gently, making sure suna could only see him. aran started to shoo the rest of the team away from them. just the coach, kita, and osamu stayed. they didn't need the extra attention of the team. while osamu held the males cheek, kita slowly grabbed the middle blockers hand. suna let go of his right hand and showed kita. two of his fingers were already bruising. they looked broken and crooked. tears threatened to fall as suna stared at osamu but osamu only gave him a comforting smile. "kita, let go for a moment." osamu said and kita did. "close your eyes. trust me." he whispered to suna. suna wasn't one to listen but he trusted his boyfriend so he closed them. he let out a quiet sigh and let osamu guide him to stand up. he had his boyfriends arm around his waist as they walked to the bench. "coach, it's bad. he needs to go to the infirmary." kita informed while osamu held his boyfriend.

"i don't feel so good.." suna mumbled, catching all the team members attentions. the pain was so bad that he was starting to get dizzy. "it's okay. we are going to get you fixed up." osamu whispered as kita came back over and wrapped his arm around sunas other side to keep him balanced. "okay, you three go to the infirmary. i want updates." the coach said firmly and got a silent nod from the captain.

all three started the short journey to the medic, sitting him on the bed when they got there. the medic already knew what happened so he wasted no time giving suna pain meds and starting to splint the fingers. he knew they needed structure since they were really broken. it was gruesome.

the rest of the game suna and osamu spent in the infirmary. once suna had passed out due to the pain meds, osamu sent kita back to the game. he held his boyfriend against his body as they laid in the cramped hospital bed. both boys were six foot or a little over so it was cramped but osamu wouldn't complain. he needed to be there for his boyfriend. he loved him.
