Chapter 29: Suspicion

Summary:

Arei only wanted to get out of her dorm room because she wanted to get some food from the school dining hall. However, as she was on her way to the dining hall, she spots Xander, David, and Min walking down the hallways of the dormitory....when it's almost 8 PM.

"Ugh....My face looks awful...!" A girl with black hair tied into a ponytail whined as one of her hands went up to touch her messy looking face. Her face displays one of worry and embarrassment.

"Your face looks awful? Well I have the solution for you!" Another girl with blonde hair chimed in, before bringing out a bottle of a certain product out of seemingly nowhere.

"Pand's Face Wash! Now with serum!" She exclaimed in a cheery tone. And then, animated footage of a visualization of how the face wash product works appears as the girl's voice explains how it works.

Eventually, the explanation is done, and the scene comes back to the two girls. "Pand's Face Wash with Serum! Make your days bri-"

And then the screen goes black.

A groan can be heard from a girl with blue hair. She was sat cross-legged on her bed, with one hand on the surface of said bed, while her other hand is holding the TV remote. Turns out she just watched a commercial of sorts.

She got bored, however, and decided to turn off the TV. "Ugh, so boring. The show that's airing right now is an unfunny comedy show too." She muttered, before pouting. Arei Nageishi then placed the TV remote she was holding onto her bed and then got up from her sitting position.

"Hmph, whatever. I'm hungry, anyways, so I'll just go to the dining hall then~" She said in a more happy tone, before walking towards the door and then opening it.

Arei just got out of her dorm room. She scanned her surroundings....which is really just the hallway in the dormitory building. She then made sure that no one else is around and proceeded to make her way to the dormitory's exit.

It was a normal Sunday night, honestly. Tomorrow, final term exams start for all students of Hope's Peak Academy, and obviously, as expected, Arei didn't studied too seriously.

The blue haired girl walked through the hallways, before suddenly stopping after seeing the sight of three students walking through the opposite direction as her. They just came out of the hallway that she wanted to come into. Quickly, Arei hid behind the walls, watching as the students walked past her.

However, just from the back, she immediately realized that those three students are actually her classmates. She's familiar with the shade of red that Xander's hair has, she's familiar with Min's messy hair, and she's familiar with the ahoge resting on David's hair. Curious, the bowler decided to follow them and eavesdrop their conversation.

"...I mean, Alicia is a pretty smart person, not going to lie. She literally had succeeded on fulfilling her goal so many times." Min's voice can finally be heard from a far. 'Alicia? Who the fuck is Alicia?' Arei thought as she continued making careful steps behind her three classmates.

"Yup. That's why we need to be cautious. She literally made those stupid floating robots make mini explosions in the area near our school. Don't want that to happen again." Xander explained, sighing afterwards. He sounded really disappointed, but more importantly, Arei was left shocked by what the rebel said.

'Huh?! So these three idiots know about the explosions near school a few weeks ago?!' Arei thought again in shook. "God, I can imagine how much hatred is in her heart to the point she would always find ways to destroy this country in every timeline, but in every timeline? Ugh, it's insane." David complained, not sounding like the usual David Arei knows.

"Don't worry about it you guys! We'll stop her! I promise--!"

"Are you really sure, though, Xander? At this rate, I'm really tired of all of this."

"....Mr. Da-"

"Shut. Your mouth. For...just a minute. Do you know how many times she has succeeded? Honestly, I'm fed up with this shit."

A sigh can be heard from Min.

"But still, we can't give up that easily."

"But we've gone through every single timeline we knew! Even if Seiten didn't have you as a member all of those times, Min. We saw everything. We knew how we failed in all of those timelines."

The two students were silent as David kept on rambling and rambling.

"If we fail again in this timeline, I swear to fucking Yume, I give up." David finished, the stars in his eyes not even visible anymore. "...Mr. David, this isn't you." Xander said in worry.

"...Hmph. Whatever. I'm gonna go into my dorm room first. It's near. Good night, you two." David said, before leaving the two time-leapers. Xander and Min stood there in silence, processing every word the inspirational speaker said.

Meanwhile, Arei already decided to run off back to her dorm room. She was...shocked. Confused. That's how she felt.

As soon as Arei stepped foot into her dorm room, she closed the door and could only let out a bunch of tired pants, before letting out a relieved sigh. "...What...the fuck did I just heard...?" She asked herself, but she knows damn well she's not getting an answer anytime soon.

Still...

She might need to talk to David about this soon.
