Josh's POV

Okay. First of all, I've never had detention in my life. Never. My parents have always told me to behave myself and be a good boy. I've always thought detention was a sort of prison, something I wouldn't enjoy. Although now? I feel like going to detention every single day. Only if Sophie is there.

I admit. I might have a small crush on Sophie. I mean, we have so much in common. Sometimes we like to isolate ourselves from the world, we get super defensive, we're both stubborn, we are absolutely trash at painting, we love Oreos ( but the Oreos at my house are off limits, since my dad is obsessed with them ) and we are very fond about how much sleep we get. Sophie is also so pretty and is such a vibe. Sometimes though, we get along and talk all the time, then other times, we feel like pushing each other off a cliff. Literally.

Now that I think about it, I actually sort of liked Sophie since the beginning. I don't know why I acted like a jerk though. Maybe for the attention?

The only problem with me having a crush on Sophie is, Max likes Sophie. I guess he sort of thought something was going on between Sophie and I, because he never leaves Sophie's side...well, at least when I'm around. Max can also be such a pain, asking me if I was at Sophie's house or if she was at my house. I mean, Sophie's family and my family are really close, so of course we'll be spending a lot of time together. Plus, Sophie and I sort of...tolerate each other now.

I saw Sophie walking out of her house shortly after we came back from detention. I'm not stalking her or anything, I just happened to be standing by my window, and saw her walking out of the house.

.......

Sophie's POV

"Hey Max." I said spotting Max sitting on a bench.

"Hey Sophie." Max greeted me back with a huge smile. "Come sit." Max said.

"So what's the important thing you couldn't tell me over the phone?" I asked while sitting down.

"Okay, so I know we haven't really spoken to each other and we only really started talking this year, but I just wanted to let you know that I really, really like you." Max said.

"As in, a friend?" I asked. I know. Silly question.

Max looked at me with a smile and put his hands on mine.

"No, as in do you wanna be my girlfriend?"

My stomach bursted with butterflies. I thought I was going to faint. Did Max just say, he liked me?! To top it all off, he asked me to be his girlfriend!! I've never dated anyone in my life and I've never felt this feeling before. But this, this feeling, is amazing.

"Of course I'll be your girlfriend, Max." I said, leaping into his arms. Best. Day. Ever.
