the van had come to a stop and the group of friends knew they had made it to the presidential mansion. the doors were opened and peacekeepers stormed in. but the eight were already on their feet, expecting a fight. when they were grabbed, they fought back.

jeno and jaemin were doing the most damage. they had knocked out two of the peacekeepers but then the fight came to an end when they were tased. they dropped to the floor, groaning in pain and their friends around them froze.

the peacekeepers took it as their opportunity to restrain the eight in handcuffs and drag them out the van. they were taken through the large mansion and towards some stairs at the very back. jihyun tripped several times as she was pulled down the stairs and towards a cellar. she was shoved inside and the peacekeeper locked the door behind her.

"wait!" she yelled, rushing towards the bars to get a glimpse of her friends one last time before they would be separated.

"stay strong, ji." jeno told her before him and the others disappeared into their own cells.

just when jihyun thought it couldn't get any worse, a peacekeeper pressed a button and another door closed in front of her, one that completely blocked her into the cell so that she could no longer see outside of it. not being able to see her friends was horrible but now she couldn't even speak to them. this was snow's worst torture for the friends.

jihyun fell to her knees, gripping at her hair in utter distress. she was going to go mad in that cell within a day. there was a singular bed in the corner of the room and it felt mocking to her. she'd been confined in a small soundproof cell all alone but got a decent bed with pillows and blankets.

suddenly a loud voice echoed around her. it was snow.

"hello, dear victors. it's nice to see you again. i wasn't surprised to hear that you had made your way into the capitol. i was hoping for this. you've always had such bravery and courage it's astonishing. do make yourselves at home as you will be here for a while."

jihyun let out a scream of anger as she tossed a pillow across the room. she blamed herself. she told herself that everything would have gone well if she hadn't been so weak. had she been awake, she'd have told nari not to call someone else to treat her. they weren't cautious enough and it would lead to their death.

though jihyun felt like death wouldn't come quickly. knowing snow, he'd want to use the eight to put a stop to the rebellion that they were the faces of.

night was approaching and she was sure nothing was going to happen. yet still, jihyun was sat in the same place on the floor, her head resting on her knees and her eyes not closing for more than a second. the wait was killing her and she just wanted to know if her friends were alright. she just needed to hear their voices.

then came morning and the doors opened. a peacekeeper pushed some food on a plate through the bars. when the peacekeeper left, jihyun rushed forwards, her hands gripping the bars. she could see jaemin in the cell across from her.

"jaemin!"

"foxy!" he stood up and came towards the bars on his cell. he looked exhausted like he hadn't slept either.

"jihyun! jaemin!" they heard renjun's voice. "is everyone here?!"

they could hear all of their friends reply and jihyun felt a slight weight lift off her shoulders knowing they were all okay.

"what do we do?" chenle asked.

"we're probably being watched and listened to." mark said, warning them that they couldn't create plans this way.
