60. Never Have I Ever...

Well it may not exactly be considered 'good news' as Professor McGonagall looked more shocked than anything by the surprise announcement. But she appreciated that Astra and Draco told her and that they were being mature about their decision, talking though all options.

As expected Professor McGonagall was full of wisdom on what to do. She set up weekly appointments for Astra to see Madame Pomfrey for checkups and for the house elves to fill the cupboards in her kitchen trunk with snacks as she found eating little and often to be the best way to keep her stomach at bay.

She promised not to tell anyone or speak of it until the couple were ready and she even gave permission for Narcissa to visit the school so they could tell her.

That was quite a funny experience. Narcissa arrived about an hour after she was summoned in a blind panic.

"I'm here! I'm here!" She shouted stepping out of the fireplace. "What happened? Who do I have to hex?"

"Hello mother," Draco chuckled standing to kiss her. "Everything is fine and no one is hurt or injured so no need to hex anyone."

"Oh thank merlin," Narcissa smiled as she moved past Draco to hug and kiss Astra as well. "So what am I here for?"

"Well, Draco and I wanted to tell you something and -"

"You're engaged," she said excitedly.

"What no! Why does everyone assume that?" Draco rolled his eyes.

"It's not uncommon you now for -"

"Yeah we know mother, thank you. But we are not engaged."

Narcissa pouted. "I was hoping you were so I could get planing the wedding. I want some grandkids," she said. "And while I am still young to chase after them."

Astra blushed furiously and looked to Draco who was biting his lip.

"Well," Astra said quietly.

"About that," Draco chuckled. "You may get your wish sooner than you anticipated." Narcissa was looking between the two of them with her mouth open. "Mother, Astra is pregnant. We are going to have a -"

"BABY! Oh, Merlin!! Are you really?" She said excitedly, almost vibrating on her seat. Astra smiled and nodded as Draco took her hand. "This is fantastic news! Oh, I am so happy! Oh, I am so excited! So when are you due? When did you find out? How many weeks are you? How are you feeling? Oh, tell me everything!"

The rest of the afternoon was spent filling Narcissa in on everything that had happened from them finding out to them telling her not leaving anything out. Astra did laugh when Narcissa smacked her son on the back of the head for being what she declared as 'a pompous ass!'

She asked every question she could think of, including how the school was going to help with the pregnancy and what would happen is she had it during term time. She even thought of questions that Astra hadn't thought of.

Astra listened as much as she could but she was getting tired and Draco noticed. "Look we are heading home tomorrow for the holidays and we can talk more about it then. Mother you remember we are staying with Astra and her family?"

Narcissa nodded. "Yes I am packed and ready. I am very excited."

"Well we can discuss the rest of things at home." Draco said nodding. "Right now I need to get my girl to bed. It's been an emotional day."

"Of course," Professor McGonagall smiled.

"Professor you should visit us over the holidays so we can discuss what happens when we head back after the holidays? I Why not come for Christmas dinner with us?"
