The first few weeks back were uneventful. All the teachers were now in panic mode, threatening everyone that 'this might be on the exam' or 'this topic is bound to be touched on' so the students were taking notes like crazy in class and Astra had to take herself to Hogsmeade two weekends in a row to get extra quills and parchment.
It was the day of the scan for Astra and Draco and she was a bundle of nerves. She did not sleep the night before but stayed up thinking over names and trying to guess what she was having. The group had all bet on what they thought it would be. It was completely split. Half thought girl and half thought boy.
Astra was the only one who didn't bet. She had absolutely no clue and knew she would be happy, no matter what the outcome. So long as the baby was healthy and happy, she didn't care if it came out green, she would love it all the same.
Draco was buzzing! He was up at the crack of dawn and dressed before Astra was even out of the shower. They were the first one's down to breakfast that morning. Astra had been very good the last few weeks, eating healthy and doing everything right. But this morning, she needed coffee and she dared anyone to tell her off for having a cup.
"What time is it now?" Draco asked in an excited voice as Astra finished her toast and pineapple jam.
"It's exactly three minutes more than it was when you asked me before," she chuckled as the rest of the gang sat down at the table. Harry sat on her right. "Would you calm down please? You are practically vibrating."
"I was going to ask you what he ate for breakfast. I could do with some myself," Ron chuckled.
"He is just excited to find out the sex of the baby."
"What was that about sex?" Blaise asked sitting down. "Sex gets me excited too."
Astra rolled her eyes. "The sex of the baby," she clarified as Blaise made an O with his mouth. "We find out this afternoon."
"And is everyone coming?" Pansy asked.
"Yeah pretty much. Dad asked Esme to be there with him. Andromeda is coming with Narcissa and Sirius and Remus are going to meet us there after his afternoon class before he heads home for the day." She smiled. "So you all know what time to be there?"
"3pm," Theo recited and held up the palm of his hand which had a huge 3.00pm written in black. He began eating his cereal. Leaning his head on his hand.
"And I bet he is still the one to forget," Blaise chuckled.
"Well none of you have an excuse," Draco chuckled as he gestured to Theo.
"What did I do?" Theo said sitting up straight. The ink from his hand was now on display....on his forehead.
"Nothing sweetie. Don't worry about it," Pansy bit her lip and took a sip of her juice.
"Anyone manage to get their essay finished for McGonagall?" Hermione asked as she sipped her tea. "I think I am done. Just need a concluding paragraph."
"Yeah I finished mine last night," Astra sighed. "Couldn't sleep. I managed to get those questions for DADA done as well and I looked up the uses for Boomslang skin...it was gross."
"I need to finish mine later," Blaise sighed. "Might have to treat my wife to an evening in the library."
"Isn't my husband a romantic?" Maddi giggled.
Classes seemed to drag longer than usual and Astra was getting more and more excited with each passing hour. She found herself watching the clock more than the teacher and she knew she would be in trouble if any of her classes were theory where she needed to take notes. But she just couldn't concentrate.
