The next morning, I woke up early and decided officially that I would ask George if he indeed still had feelings for me. I drove over in the nice weather. Nice weather is always good luck, so I felt better in my decision and how it would play out.

Minutes later, I arrived at his doorstep. My hands started shaking with nerves, as I forced it to knock three times on George's brown door. I heard a muffled voice come from inside, so I assumed it was George. I waited a minute before he answered the door. Once he saw me, his face lit up with joy.

"Hello, Y/N!" He greeted me. "What brings you here?" He asked, as he let me in his lovely home.

"I wanted to talk to you about something, actually." I told him. He guided me into the kitchen as I was saying this.

"Would you like some lunch? I just finished cooking it so it's hot and ready." George offered.

"No, thanks. I had a late breakfast before I got here. But anyways," As I told him about the night with the girls, and popped the question, George sat across from me eating his lunch. "Do you still have feelings for me?" He swallowed the food he had been eating, paused to think, and simply just said,

     "No."

"Well, alright then. I'm glad! Thank you for understanding, Georgie." I smilled. "I should get going. Sorry to bother you. I'll see you later." George nodded, and I saw myself out so he could continue eating.

I felt relieved as I drove back home, and as I told John what happened. Thank God for the nice weather.

"That's it? He just said "No"?" John asked, clarifying.

     "Yeah," I replied, simply.

"And you didn't think twice about it?"

"No. I trust him. Besides, it's impossible to be hung up on the same person for so so long."

"Y/N, I don't know. It just seems strange, the way he replied. I -"

"John," I cut him off. "Trust me. I'm all yours, okay? George is no longer in the way." I reassured him. I gave John a soft kiss, and sat next to him on the couch as we watched the news.
