Two days later, Micah was standing in a clearing in the middle of the woods with his dad standing next to him. The Cullens were nowhere to be seen because the brunette had begged them to stay at the house. This was something he and Charlie needed to do alone.
It had taken a lot of convincing, but eventually, they had relented. Micah knew that they weren't happy but they understood his reasoning. So long as he called them once it was over, that way they could come and get him before taking him back to the house.
Standing in the middle of the clearing were Aro, Caius and Marcus. All three of them adorned their pitch black, Volturi cloaks with a golden chain around their necks. They looked regal and definitely lived up to their titles as kings.
The area was stuck in a tense and uncomfortable silence for the following few minutes until high pitched screams reached their ears. Wincing, Micah covered them with his hands as his sister was darted out from the trees.
"Please!" She bellowed once she caught sight of the kings. "I didn't do anything wrong! Don't you see! Turn me and I'll be your queen! I'll slaughter anyone you want me to! Please!" She grunted as she was thrown to the floor.
"I wouldn't turn you, even if we were the last people on this planet. I'd much rather be alone," Aro spat at her feet, "Besides, why would I want you as my queen when she is waiting for me at home?" He looked her up and down and scrunched his face, "You could never compare."
Waving his hand, Aro watched with glee as Demetri and Felix grabbed her arms and yanked her head up to face the King. "Do you know why you are here, Isabella?" He asked, her name rolling off of his tongue like it held some sort of disease.
Bella shook her head. "You're here because you killed your brother." Aro's brow twitched as he saw her glare over at Micah. "Your brother is Mated which means he is protected under Law. A Law that you have broken. Do you know what happens to someone who breaks that Law?"
Aro crouched down and ran his knuckles across her face, taking immense pleasure in her disgruntled shudder. When she shook her head once more, he smiled a sickly sweet smile, "It means that you get to die. Any last words?" He turned to Micah as if expecting to be stopped again.
Micah bit his lip as he looked at his sister. Her hair was a matted mess while he eyes carried bags so deep, her skin looked a sickly pale white in comparison. "After everything you have done to me, I have one thing to say." He swallowed thickly. "I forgive you."
Slowly turning her head towards her brother, she smiled. Then she laughed like Micah had just told her the best joke in all of human history. She laughed so hard that tears spilt down her face before she suddenly stopped.
It was like someone had pressed pause. Her eyes glossed over while her mouth clamped shut. The girl he once knew was really gone. He didn't understand what had happened to make her so unhinged that she thought killing him would answer all of her problems.
Sure the two had never had a good relationship, but he had really thought that she had started to change once she had been released. That was until she had stabbed him multiple times and left him to bleed to death in the streets.
Suddenly Bella jerked around, "I don't want your forgiveness!" She snarled like a rabid dog, "I want what's rightfully mine! You have taken everything from me. I hate you! You should have stayed dead you freak!"
The moment the words had tumbled from her mouth, Aro had ripped off her head. Blood splattered everywhere, coating them in a crimson goo. "Burn the body," he ordered, dropping the head onto the ground. "Make her disappear."
While this was happening, Charlie grasped his son's hand, gripping it tightly. "I-I," he stuttered, unsure of what he wanted to say. Without a word, Micah pulled his dad into a hug and held him tight. "I know what she did was wrong, but - "
"But she was still your daughter," Micah finished for him. He didn't feel any hate for the fact that Charlie was upset over Bella's death. As he said, she was still his daughter. A part of him would always love her just like any other parent. "I understand."
After a few minutes, Marcus and Caius walked over in clean robes. "Take him home?" He whispered softly, nodding his head appreciatively when they silently conveyed that they would. With a sigh, he watched his father disappear.
Pulling out his phone, Micah messaged Edward and three seconds later, the Vampire arrived. Throwing himself into his arms, he let himself relax with a sigh. Pulling back, he looked over his shoulder and smiled as Emmett, Carlisle and Jasper appeared.
"It's over."
