Sitting in the front room, next to his dad, Micah fiddled with his fingers nervously. While Erik had told him about the Kings coming to Forks, he never actually expected them to turn up at his house and requesting that they all sit down and have a conversation.
"Firstly, I would like to start off by saying that it is nice to see you alive and well, Micah. Under such circumstances, it is a luxury not many can afford." Said Aro as he clapped his hands together.
Charlie, who hadn't taken his eyes off of the two ethereal looking gentleman, jumped at the loud noise and instantly turned towards his son to make sure the boy was okay.
"Secondly, I think a set of introductions are in order. My name is Aro, these are my brothers, Marcus and Caius and we are the leaders of the Volturi."
"I'm sorry," Charlie shook his head while Micah swallowed thickly, "What the hell is the Volturi? And why does it sound like some sort of cult? And how do you know my son?" He demanded his narrowed eyes.
Aro smiled tensely before answering, "That brings us to our third point. Now, as a human I can understand that your minds are clouded with doubt. But worry not because what I am about to tell you will not only change your life, but your views of the world forever." He said, being more tactful than what he was the day he told his Mate the truth.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Charlie leaned back in his seat. His eyes would constantly drift between his son and the two men he could no longer get out of his head. The two were watching him like a hawk while his son was nervously biting his thumb.
Wind howled outside the Swan residence, rattling the windows and doors, not that anymore paid much attention. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Micah had noticed and tried to take a calming breath because of it.
"You see, Mr Swan, My brothers and I are nothing ordinary. I'm sure you have already noticed our beautiful appearance and glowing red eyes. And there is a reason for that. For you see, the world you live in has been nothing but a lie, Mr Swan. All the Legends are real. In fact, you are sitting in front of three of them yourself. Caius, Marcus and myself included are Upir's. Or the technical term, Vampires."
All was quiet as they tried to gauge the stoic man's thoughts. Aro had even considered grabbing his hand but in the end, he decided against it. He knew first hand how territorial one could be upon finding their Mate. He didn't feel like fighting both his brothers.
With worried eyes, Micah turned towards his dad. Why isn't he saying anything? He wondered. It was just quiet. Too quiet. So quiet in fact, that everyone began shifting uncomfortably within their seats.
But then that silence broke when Charlie let out a loud string of laughter. "Oh, God!" He chuckled while wiping at his teary eyes. "That was good! Especially with how serious you sound and look! But seriously," his smile dropped, "Jokes over. How the hell do you know my son?"
Caius and Marcus shared a look, "Mi Amore," said Caius, his voice as soft as melted honey. If he noticed the small shiver run across his Mate, he didn't say anything, "This is no joke. Aro speaks nothing but the truth. We are Vampires, I can prove it if I need to."
Charlie waved his hand, silently telling the blonde male to get on with it. With his nose twitching in irritation, Caius stood up from the chair and with a quick brush of air, he was gone. A few seconds passed by before he was back in the chair with his leg crossed over his knee.
"Jesus Fucking Christ!" Charlie cursed as jumped behind the sofa. After pulling Micah up from the chair, he placed the teen behind himself as he slowly backed themselves into the hall. "Stay over there!"
"Mr Swan, please sit down," Aro request with a small sigh. Rubbing his eye, the raven haired vampire leaned back in his chair. Charlie did know that if he wanted to, He could kill both him and his son in five seconds flat? Right? It didn't matter the distance between them because He was faster.
"And why should I do that? What? You think I'm just going to sit down and have a fucking Tea Party before you kill us? You gotta be out of your dam mind." Charlie hissed, giving Micah a terrible sense of déjà vu.
Marcus and Caius let lout loud growls, "As if we'd let anyone get close enough to lay a hand on you," Marcus growled while his eyes turned black In fury. The mere thought of someone hurting the man made his No existent blood to boil.
"And why should I trust you?" Charlie quipped back in response. His hand moved back, gently pushing Micah further away as he stepped back.
"Because we would rather die than hurt you and if anyone tried to hurt you, we'd rip them apart!"
"Again, why should I trust anything you have to say?
"Because!"
"Because what?"
"Just because!"
"Well, just because isn't good enough! Now tell me!"
"Because your our mate!!"
Charlie's mouth shut with an audible chomp while his eyes widened in shock. His mind worked a mile a minute as he tried to comprehend everything he had just heard, until he couldn't do it anymore. A small laugh slipped from his lips before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and his body his the ground with a bang.

So I'd like to apologise that you guys have had to wait so long for an update on not only this story, but all of my others too. I honestly don't have a good enough excuse to give you other than I just couldn't think of what to put. I knew exactly how I wanted the chapter to go, but whenever I tried to put it into words, my mind would just blank and I'd end up looking at my screen like a right pillock.
So I know that this Chapter probably seems too rushed but I just wanted to get one out as soon as possible for you guys instead of taking even longer.
On the plus side, I did manage to distract myself by starting another story, it's a stranger things story and it's called 'The Darkest Hour' hopefully, once I get a few chapters written (Give it three months knowing me 🙄) I'll get it posted.
