As the hours ticked by incredibly slowly, Micah continued to explain everything he could think of, that needed to be explained, to his father. The man had listened patiently until the boy had stopped to gauge his response.
"I-I-I understand," Charlie stammered with a shaky voice. "While I don't like the idea of killing someone, I understand. I don't think I could stop you even if I wanted to anyhow."
Caius and Marcus watched as their mate buried his head into his hands. "If you wish for her to remain alive, just say so and it shall be," Caius said, ignoring his brothers noise of protest.
Charlie shook his head, "Like I said, I understand. Besides, you put those laws in place for a reason, don't go breaking them for me just because don't like murder. I'm a chief, or well, I was the chief," he looked down to his hands, "I wouldn't be a very good one if I threw a party and congratulated the killer now would I?"
"You where an amazing chief, dad," Micah said softly, squeezing the man's hand. "Don't forget that. I'm sure if you asked, they'd give you your job back in a heartbeat."
Charlie smiled a small smile while shaking his head. He didn't believe that for a second. He was a terrible chief. Hell, he didn't even realise that his daughter, his own flesh and blood was a stone cold killer. She killed his son for something he couldn't control.
His mouth opened, "I-I.... If it's not to much to ask, I would like to see her one last time." He looked towards the kings hesitantly. "Just to say goodbye. I know what she did was bad and I will never forgive or forget it. But she's still my daughter, I just wanted to say my peace, then you can do whatever the hell you want."
Aro pondered on the thought for a few minutes. His finger absentmindedly tapped against his chin before he turned to the man in question. "I think that is agreeable. As long as you don't try to free her."
Caius and Marcus both growled at their brother, glaring harshly. "I won't do that. I promise," Charlie vowed, trying to defuse the tension. "When will you be... Ya know, killing her."
"Tonight," Aro answered without a single shred of hesitation. "We already have a guard on the inside. At ten o'clock tonight, Bella Swan will be stripped from this world, left to spend eternity in the fiery gates of hell."
Charlie nodded his head while turning towards the ground, "I should probably head out now then if I want to see her." Letting out a tired sigh, the man ran his hands down his face. "When this is all over, I'm going to bed and I don't want to be woken up for at least seven hours."
Pushing down on his knees, Charlie stood up from the sofa, grabbed his keys, pulled on his coat and headed towards the door. Pulling it open, he walked down the porch and climbed into his car.
As he placed the key in the ignition, he head the door to his left slam. Turning over, he saw his son sitting in the passenger side. Charlie opened his mouth to protest but Micah beat him to it, "No, Dad." He shook his head, "No arguments. I'm coming with you. Besides, I'd love to see her face when she sees me alive."
