(It's a sunrise on a photo, but just pretend it's a sunset)
Alexandra June 10th
We walk out of the store with my younger brothers' hand in one of mine and an ice-cream in the other.
As I was leaving the house earlier, my younger brother, Tobias, wouldn't let me go unless I took him with me.
He deserves peace and quiet for a little, and I haven't taken him with me to somewhere for a while, so here he is- my best friend.
He's my baby.
We have a special connection-the oldest and the youngest. Out of all siblings, him and I look the most similar. Whereas I have brown hair, Toby has blond curly hair. My pretty, pretty boy. We share a deep shade of brown eyes.
Toby insisted that we get ice-cream before we go walking around, we didn't really make any other plans.
Crossing the road, we walk past the bus-stop and the flower shop, the employee is gathering the vases filled with flowers to bring them back inside the store since they are closing soon for the day. It's almost eight, it's not as hot anymore as it was a few hours ago, but it's still warm.
Waverly is a small town that is a summer resort, one of the most know in a country, with its long shoreline covered by soft sand, many stores and cafes, motels and B&Bs, open just during summertime.
In any other time of the year, here are only the locals living their everyday life. In any other time, there's nothing to do in here, it's almost boring, but other than that, in winter- there's snow at the beach. I haven't seen it; I don't come here in winters.
I love seeing the town streets in its full summertime glory- people walking around, teenagers in big groups, they are scary actually, families with their kids and older ladies and gentlemen laughing together, enjoying their time. Different lights bringing more life to the whole picture, the distant music is playing somewhere, a few cars passing by. There's something cheerful in the summer air.
We get to the local playground, if you can call it that, a swing-set with two seats, a carousel and a slide. Every one of those is already filled with kids, parents standing nearby talking amongst each other. No, thank you, I think to myself, I'm not staying here. So, I convince my brother to leave.
"Hey, Toby, let's go somewhere else, there are already too many people."
"No," he states sure of himself, "why? I want to play." Shush, it's me who has to chase you around and make sure you don't do something stupid and don't accidentally die.
"Look, there's so many kids already, no room for us." I'm not staying here, once again.
"Noooo-" he continues whining, but I interrupt his stupid tantrum.
"Let's come here tomorrow and I will also buy you two ice-creams, what do you think?"
We go on arguing, until we get to the compromise, that now we will continue walking but I have to take him here tomorrow.
He can be stubborn, but he's my brother so can I.
We turn a corner of the street and beach comes to a view. Oh, thank God, now I have to keep an eye on him extra carefully, cause I'm not going in the water. But obviously the beach is where Toby wants to go next.
"Al, Al, let's go to the beach!" Each, let's go get a wave. Sorry.
He tugs my hand.
The good sister I am I agree, "Yeah, let's go! But listen, we aren't going in to the water, alright?"
