Alexandra June 16th

My first week working in the city is behind me. I bagged a job at the cafe as a barista, I haven't had a job like that before, where I have to talk to costumers directly that much.

The whole week was just nerve wracking, filled with anxiety and messing up, out of five days, there was one when I didn't mess something up or got something wrong.

I'm not a person to give up easily and cry when something small and insignificant happens, but I guess there's first to everything. Today was somewhat good, I have gotten more used to things, I was doing fine.

"How are you doing? You look more tired than usual." Myles asks.

We're sitting on a sand, at the beach again, just like we have for the past week. Night has become my favourite time of the day, because at the end of every day, we're here, letting it all go.

I let out a heavy sigh and lay on my back, letting the sand get onto my hair, can't wait to wash it off. "Just tired of work, it's been a hard week"

"Where do you work?" he asks slightly surprised.

"Dom's" I say, "The Dom's Cafe, it's in the city, across the city library-"

"Yeah, yeah I know where it is" he pop a gum in his mouth.

"It was my first week"I tell him.

"Yeah?" He looks me in the eye, "How did it go?"

"How does it look like it did?" I ask. My body says it all. Exhausted and in need of peace and rest.
Not dying yet though.

He roll his eyes and nudges my shoulder with his as I was sitting up again. "What are you up to, you have this mischievous look on your face?"

He looks like he's up to no good. I don't know him that well yet, but I can see that he is planning something. This weird look in his dark blue eyes. He does seem different tonight, something is going on, I just know it. I don't know if I should be scared or intrigued.

He stays quiet for a moment, then almost desperately, but also excitedly he says, "Let's get out of this town, away from everything, I mean, think about it, just for the night, I know a place." Nothing lasts forever.

I mean he is tall and, he certainly isn't ugly. And I'm into spontaneous and impulsive plans.

I live for the unknowing and the adrenaline. As much as it is terrifying and killing, sometimes something about it brings spark to life.

"You know a place?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.

"There's this lake almost an hour away, I have been there a few times. We'll take my dads' car." I don't say anything for a second. "Are you in? Don't cry about it, I'm a good driver" he says.

"I wasn't questioning that, bitch" I defend myself, "When will we be going?"

"Right now?" he says, more like asking.

"Right now?" Not that spontaneous though, "You wanna go today?"

"I mean, yeah, tonigh-"he says, but I interrupt him,

"What about we go tomorrow, it's late already?" That seem more like a plan.

"Dad's using the car tomorrow, he's going out"

"You're gonna take your dad's car without asking?" I question.

"Yeah, basically" he shrugs it off.

"Why don't you just ask him?"
