My phone dings with a message as I step out of my bathroom, Lucas telling me that they are outside waiting for me. I grab bag and jog downstairs, finding a few water bottles from the fridge before locking the door and making it to the car.

"Hey" I let the door slam shut.

"Hi, Hon, you ready?" My mother greets me from the driver's seat.

"Ready" I assure, unscrewing the cap, taking a swig. I screw the cap back on as mom drives out of the drive way.

"To the Dom's?" mom looks at me from the rear-view mirror. I hum in agreement. Alex's shift ends in twenty minutes and she has a little spare time before we arrive there to pick her up.

Dean turns around in his seat to face me, "So, how far are the things with you and Alexandra?"

I snap my head up to him from my phone, "What?" I hear Lucas snort a next to me, I turn to look at him, him pressing his lips together, "You blabbing around?" I ask him. "Me and Alexandra aren't together." I tell Dean.

"You aren't?" he asks and then looks at Lucas. He likely was the one to share his delusions. Lucas shrugs indifferently and looks out the window, Dean shakes his head and turns away.

I swat Lucas' arm for being a shithead.

Lucas befriends every other person who he passes, a guy or a girl, he just is like that. I have no idea how he does that; he just has this charm about him, attracting people to him. Lucas out of everyone should know that it's okay for me and Alexandra to be friends, even if we are opposite genders, without having feelings for one another.

Alexandra and I are great friends, I like everything about her and hanging out with her. I talk, she listens and she talks and I listen, we don't even have to say a word at times, silence just as good.

I have caught up with Davian and Steven too, they are making plans for their band and have been managing around; though they are taking a break, they still want to have it all in control. Plus, they have work, too, so we have to make time from beside that. The have a studio in city and we have been hanging around there at times.

And it has become a routine with Alex, after her shift ends, sometimes we hang out the whole evening, or just at night. My work day starts later than hers and often ends earlier too.

Weekends are usually free for both of us, I get called once in a while, and we just hang around, hiding away from everything. I'm content, I wouldn't change her for anything.

We near the building and see Alexandra sitting on a curb, a tree shading her from the sun. Mom stops the car right in front of her, she stands up and I push the door open for her, stepping out.

"No, nope, I ain't sitting in the middle." she protests.

"Oh, yeah? And why wouldn't that happen?" I press, crossing my arms at my chest.

"Be nice to the guest or something" she shrugs, I am about to argue back, but mom commands us into the car, so I'm pushed in, getting trapped.

"I hate you" I express my feelings.

"Love ya too"

"Were you trying to get yourself killed or something?" my mom asks Alex from the front, referring to her sitting on a curb while waiting.

"Something like that" Alex tells her. Mom merely nods, not even questioning our teenage minds. My mom was pretty young when she had me, but it's still different, we're different. Her generation didn't joke about death the way ours does.
