Myles

I haven't seen Davian and others since last summer, it's been nice to catch up a little.

We met at a midsummer party a year ago, me and Davian. He was already friends with Bree and Connor, by the end of the night, we had gained the twins, Steven and Inez, to our little group.

That guy Rohan is a new one.

Speaking of the devil, here he comes, walking my way, a grin on his face. This damn dude has nice teeth.

He reaches his hand out for me to shake, "Rohan".

I shake his hand, "Myles. We haven't met yet" I point out.

"No, we haven't. So, you're from here?" Rohan asks, putting his hands into his perfectly ironed dress pants. He's probably one of those guys who go everywhere dressed up.

There's no point in lying, but I don't care to explain myself. "Yes. Haven't seen you around, so I assume you aren't?" He's big city type of person, he needs people around him.

"No, no, I'm from Henley, up there" He explains. Alex is from Henley? Damn. That's too far away from me.

"Nice to meet you Ronan, I gotta go now" I'm already stepping away.

Alex looks like she's about to jump out of the window, I dragged her here so it's only fair if I go and comfort her.

"Rohan, it's Rohan" the Roman guy calls out. Yeah, okay, I don't care. There's something about him, I don't trust. Alex seemed to talk about him indifferently, he's got some shIt to him. I'm keeping away, he overwhelms me.

I sit on a armrest of the armchair that Alexandra has occupied. "Let's go for a smoke, yeah? You can get a break from it all for a minute" I offer. It's the least I can do, she looks like she need it.

"Yeah" Just as we're about to stand to flee, we see Davian striking our way.

"Myles, you still play right?" he asks, referring to my hobby of playing guitar and bass.

"What about it?" I ask. This can be either amazing news coming from his mouth or some taunting.

"Josh is moving away for college, across the country, it's not gonna work out for the band. We need a new bass player. What do you think, would you up for it?" he puts out.

This guy Josh,I haven't met, Davian and the twins are in a band. They started at the end of the summer last year.

"It won't work, I live too far away. The summer is good, but what about rest of the year?" I ask. I ain't about to drive here every other week to get together.

"We'll work it out. Just think about it." Davian offers, smiling convincingly.

"I'll give it a thought." Maybe. I grab Alex's hand and pull her up. "Let's go" we make it to the door and I call out. "Goin' for a smoke. Be right back." I pull the door open and we step out.

I search for the balcony, I know there is supposed to be. Finding it, I let Alex in, finally letting go of her hand. She let's out a sigh of relief, visibly relaxing and leans on the railing.

"Bass player in a band, huh?" She jokes. The tension still in her, making her sound nervous. She is. I hate that she is. I just wanted us to have a good time and for her to meet some of my friends.

"We'll see" I respond. Blowing the smoke out of my nose. "We were planning to go out, hang around in the city, see what the night has to offer us. You up for it? We can go to our room and stay here"

We're staying the night here, because it's already late and we have no way of getting home tonight. Besides, Alexandra has work tomorrow, so she can just walk there.
