ACT II CHAPTER 9
( if the stories over, why am i still writing )

SIX YEARS LATER.

Jeans rolled below her knees, and the water drifting against her skin, the sky had a mix of auburn along with shades of light pink enlightening District Four.

It was only Evelyn at the beach, holding a spear in her hand firmly and jabbing the end into the ocean. No one else was awake.

The twenty-two year old is an excellent fisher. She'd catch a fish as soon as her eyes lay on the aquatic vertebrates.

The soft wind gently hit her hair when Evelyn thrusted the point into a fish. Returning to the shore, she put the fish in a wooden crate which was filled with a few more.

The blonde woman would give them to people who couldn't afford food. Although her home is one of the wealthier District's, not everyone there has the luxury of it.

Evelyn's been handing out fresh food for a while now. The whole place loving her even more.

Dropping the wooden stick onto the sand, she took a deserved break. Evelyn felt the sand between her toes while the sky slowly set, falling into darkness.

"Thought I'd find you here. You know you can buy fish? You don't have to be here all the time." A familiar voice spoke from behind her.

Evelyn instantly got up and engulfed Finnick in a hug. The pair haven't seen each other for two months since he's been in the Capitol.

Taken back by her embrace, Finnick soon wrapped his arms around her and took in her scent. Each day in the Capitol, all he could think of was being with Eve again.

Pulling away, she grinned massively at her best friend. Over the past few years, the Victor's were practically inseparable by how close they are.

"I thought you weren't coming back 'till tomorrow."

"I had to come home early and see my best girl." He smirked, "I missed you." his sage green eyes met her baby blue ones.

"Figured you would."

"Did you not miss me?" He pouted jokingly. Evelyn faked her pondering. "Ouch, Eve." Finnick rested his hand over his heart. "I'm genuinely hurt."

Rolling her eyes, a chuckle escaped her mouth. "You know I missed you."

A light blue bracelet dangled from one of Finnick's finger. Evelyn's pupils gleamed against the moonlight, a shocked grin wrapping around her rosy lips.
