ACT IIII                   CHAPTER 28
( i wanna be defined by the things that i love )

While Finnick let tears of happiness stream down his face as an overwhelming sense of pure joy took over, he hugged Zane who was blinking and shocked at the news. Meanwhile, Evelyn embarked towards the recovery centre, where Johanna is still confined to a hospital bed.

"Johanna." Evelyn's voice danced with a melodic sing-song tone as she gracefully glided into the room, gently closing the door behind her. She made her way towards her dear friend, a radiant smile illuminating her face.

A wide, joy-filled grin adorned the face of the bald woman, her eyes sparkling with excitement, "Come on, let's see the magnificent ring he got you." She patted the empty space beside her invitingly. Eve gracefully took her seat, raising her hand and playfully wiggling her fingers.

"Wow." Johanna's laughter escaped her lips like a symphony of pure delight for Evelyn. "Beauty right there." She cheekily declared, nodding towards the delicate paper ring that adorned it Eve's finger.

Evelyn's laughter echoed through the air, light and carefree, as she gently lowered her hand and noticed the shadows beneath Johanna's eyes, their darkness a testament to the battles she had fought during the Capitol, "Enough about that." Evelyn dismissed the topic with a wave of her hand, shifting the focus to the present moment, "How've you been?" She inquired, her voice filled with genuine warmth and concern.

Johanna raised an unimpressed brow, "Really?"

Evelyn's sigh carried a hint of remorse as she spoke, "Sorry. I know I haven't always been the best at offering comfort." But then, a brilliant idea sparked in her mind, and a mischievous smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Hey, wanna be my bridesmaid?"

"I thought you'd never ask." Johanna grinned.

The blonde woman embraced her best friend, their arms enveloping each other in a tight, comforting embrace. In that moment, a profound sense of solace washed over them both, as if the world had paused to witness the power of their unbreakable bond. It was the kind of comfort that transcended words, a silent language of understanding and support that only they could share.

As Evelyn gently pulled away from the hug, laughter erupted from her, "I can't believe I'm getting married!" She exclaimed with excitement and disbelief.

"I know right, I'd never had thought Finnick would have the balls to propose."

"Johanna!" Evelyn gasped and playfully smacked her friend's shoulder. Johanna raised her palms in surrender.
