EVELYN'S CONSCIOUSNESS STIRRED, AND A GASP ESCAPED HER LIPS AS SHE YEARNED FOR AIR. An oxygen mask clung to her face, instilling an immediate sense of trepidation. With desperate determination, she tore it away, finding solace in the newfound ability to breathe, even though it had been supplying her with vital air. As her gaze swept the unfamiliar surroundings, she realized that she had been transported to a place entirely foreign to her.
The blonde woman found herself in what appeared to be a bustling hospital scene. Cots lined the walls, while doctors in their pristine uniforms scurried purposefully. The tiled walls gleamed with an immaculate cleanliness, reflecting a commitment to hygiene. Adjacent to her, a table displayed an array of medications and neatly arranged bandages.
In no time, a group of attentive nurses approached Evelyn's side, their eyes alighting upon her awakened state, "Miss Mane, you're in District Thirteen, there's nothing to worry about." The nurses' perceptive gaze caught the glimmer of concern that danced within Evelyn's eyes.
As Johanna's voice resounded, denying any necessary treatment, Evelyn's gaze wandered introspectively. Clad in a hospital gown devoid of its usual patterns, she gingerly touched her head, finding it smooth and unadorned.
"We used a cream you friend Zane took from the Capitol to heal your head." A nurse relayed with a gentle smile. Though not overtly fearful, a hint of caution laced her demeanor.
The forceful swing of the doors captured Evelyn's attention, causing her gaze to lift. In a flurry, Katniss and Haymitch burst into the room, their eyes scanning the surroundings. A smile graced Haymitch's face, prompting a reciprocal one from the blonde. Yet, the absence of Finnick left a lingering question in the air.
The anticipation was quelled as he arrived, his gaze frantically scanning the surroundings for his girl. As Evelyn locked eyes on Finnick, she felt her heart skip a beat. It had been so long since she'd seen him, and she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. Her eyes softened in amazement as she took in his features, and a smile spread across her lips as she realised just how much she missed him.
When his eyes finally met hers, the time seemed to stand still. A breathless gasp escaped his lips as Finnick beheld her in awe-inspiring beauty, "Evelyn."
Evelyn's heart fluttered as she saw Finnick racing towards her. With a swift motion, she gracefully leapt from the bed, propelled by an overwhelming surge of emotion. It'd been ages since they had seen each other, but they knew their love for one another never wavered.
