A/N; you know the alternate version we, as a fandom, created about Loki? The one where, after he attacked New York, he came to live with the Avengers and changed for the better? Yea, that is exactly what happened before this part

_____________________________________

It was just another tuesday night that you were spending with your closest friends at home: the Avengers Compound. Since joining the team, you guys often spend the nights together, just talking, playing video games or watching a movie. Steve said those bonding activities were good for the team - he's such a mom - but you didn't complain, you loved those nights. Especially after Loki had also joined the team. It took a while for the others and him to make somewhat of a truce, but they were on their way. You knew it. You couldn't exactly be mad at the others for not being the most comfortable with Loki at first, he did do some horrible things in his past. But you all soon began to understand that it wasn't his fault entirely. He had a bad childhood, always coming second, always not being good enough - he just wanted to prove that he was able to do something, to archive something. Now, he would never admit that to anyone, but deep down you knew.

"Earth to Y/N, what is going on up in that pretty head of yours?" Bucky asked, gently tapping your forehead. "Oh, uh, nothing," you smiled at your best friend, who was sitting right next to you on the couch. All of your friends were currently sprawled out somewhere in the lounge, either on one of the couches or at the bar. You looked around the room, looking for those blue eyes you grew to love. The second you made eye contact with Loki, your mood changed. He was giving you a death stare, or rather, he was giving Bucky a death stare. Was that jealousy? That couldn't be it, could it?
Although you didnt really know why exactly Loki wasn't feeling alright, you wanted to change that anyway. You excused yourself and stood up from the couch, walking over to were Loki was sitting on another couch opposite the one you just left. "Hey, pretty prince," you smiled at the god and went to sit down next to him. "Hello, my goddess," Loki replied, stretching one arm to wrap it around your shoulders and to pull you more towards him.

"And what is this supposed to be?" You mentioned to how you were now pressed up against the mighty creature. You two had been flirting for a while now, some days more than others, but you were sure that Loki just wanted to pass his time on earth in a nice way. You were sure that there would be nothing serious coming from of all these (sometimes not so underage friendly) flirts.

Loki turned his body to face you. "Come with me?" He more demanded than asked. You nodded anyways and let him pull you off the couch. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" You heard your best friend call and then laugh as you left the room. Before you fully entered the hallway, you gave Bucky the middle finger in return to his remark.

Loki lead you to the back door, going outside. It was august, so the night air was luckily rather mild. The god let go of your hand and walked a few steps onto the grass behind the compound. You missed the unusual warmth of his hand instantly.

"What are we doing here, Loki?" You asked, stepping up beside him. The god had tilted his head up, looking at the stars. After a deep breath he turned his head and looked at you, his eyes boring into your own. There was so much emotion going on behind the pretty light blue color, you could've sworn it looked like there was a storm growing inside them.

"I have been thinking a lot lately," Loki stated. "You always do," you joked in return.

"About us, I mean."

Your breath hatched in your throat. You stood as still as possible, afraid if you would only so much as move a muscle, you would collapse. You had been sure for some time now, that you had a big ass crush on the god in front of you - hell if one could even call your feelings a crush anymore. But you were so sure that all the (sometimes rather filthy) things you said to each other were just a way of passing the time here for the asgardian.

"Now, what does that mean, pretty fox?" You dared to ask after Loki wasn't speaking for another few seconds.

"I have come here, to prove to myself - more than others - that I am capable of being the person I want to be. I never accounted to meet someone like you, love." Loki laughed without humor. "I never thought it would be a midgaridian - of all things - that would mess with my head." Loki snapped his head back to the stars, seeming to almost getting lost in them. Looking back at you, Loki almost whispered: "What is it, that you do to me, Y/N?"

"I-I don't understand," you mumbled.

"I came here, to this realm, first to rule it, then to help save it. I never thought I would meet the one person that I had been looking for since forever, without even knowing I was looking for them. I never thought I would meet the one person, that would shake up the world for me, that would bring my heart back to beating, the one person that -" Loki stopped himself, reaching up to grab your cheek.

Eye to eye, you sweared you would be able to cut the tension between you two with scissors. It took Loki another few seconds before he spoke again: "At first I didn't know what was happening to me, I mean, how could a midgardian be the one I wanted?" Loki laughed dryly again. "I didn't understand the things I was feeling, but then suddenly all the songs on that stupid radio were about you."

The eye contact you and Loki were having, was almost to intense to handle, almost too much.

"Tell me I am not seeing things, imagining things," the god whispered coming closer with each breath.

"Tell me you feel this between us, this indescribable connection, this .. feeling .." Loki closed his eyes and placed his forehead on yours.

"I do," you somehow managed to get out.
