you're asgardian in this, grew up in the kingdom and got to know the brothers by accident one day, you three are friends ever since, which is not really approved by odin but loki doesn't care

also this contains some hints of a not so healthy relationship - but we all know that some "red flags" can be romantic as hell in FICTION, so be aware of that

"We just don't want you to get hurt, Y/N!"

"Your father is right, honey. We just want what's best for you."

You were in the kitchen with both of your parents. They were trying to talk you out of meeting 'your secret friend' who they recently found out was Loki, prince of Asgard. To say that they weren't fond of that idea was an understatement.

"I get that, but you can't tell me what to do, I'm not five anymore. I love you guys, but they are my friends."

"They are our future rulers!" - Your dad was very protective of you.

"So what? Shouldn't you be happy that I have a good connection to them?" You were getting frustrated. And you sure were done with the situation so you grabbed your scarf and went straight for the door.

"Y/N!" You heard your parents shout, but you were already out of the house.

-

Walking up to the castle was always kind of intimidating. You knew you were always welcome here - at least most people thought so - but it still felt strange.

You took your usual route through the halls to get to the library where you knew you would find Loki, when you stumbled upon him.

"It was my pleasure, really." He bowed and kissed a girls hand. She was beautiful, to say the least. You were standing a good few feet away but even from your spot you could see her long brown hair, stunning green and gold dress and gold tiara. Was she really trying to impress Loki by wearing his colors?

None of the two had spotted you yet, which you were glad for. You would seem like a crazy person, standing off to the side watching the prince and his company - Odin could probably even find a way to call this treason and have you banished, but you couldn't help yourself. Speaking of the devil: the girl left Loki the moment you saw Odin come up to his son.

"So you finally made a choice, I see."

"No." Loki was about to turn into your direction (you were ready to dodge out of side if that would happen, which had you a little on edge, to be honest), but Odin grabbed his arm, harsh.

"I am telling you this one last time: you will marry one of them. You can not-"

You immediately turned around at that and quickly walked back out of the castle. You could make out a faint calling of your name, probably from Loki who had indeed spotted you, but you did not stop until you reached fresh air.

So she really tried to impress Loki then. He would be marrying someone. No, not someone, that girl was probably a princess. It was stupid and selfish, but you thought that maybe there was a little chance that you and Loki might..

How could you be so ignorant? He had never made a real move, had never shown even the slightest bit of interest. All the times when you thought he was making a move he always stopped before anything happened - you thought it was because he was nervous, but he was a prince, for Odins sake. How could you be so stupid? Of course you misinterpreted all the times he was getting close to you, the way his hand brushed yours.. You were probably making all of that up without even realizing it.
