There Zhan was at the age of five, sitting in his room and studying. It had started to get boring after a while though, even his tutor having fallen asleep while on duty beside him.

So he stood up and sneakily made his way outside, and payed a quick visit to the restroom in a hurry. After, he decided he wanted something sweet and went to the kitchen, smuggling as many biscuits as he could into his tiny hands before walking back upstairs. Yet on his way there, he started hearing weird sounds coming from his father's office.

Curious yet worried he'd get caught, he decided to sneak a peak from the slightly open door, only to take a step back once more but in fear. His brother's bare back was turned to his father, while the man harshly hit him with what looked like a whip. The sharp red wounds were still as memorable 'till this day, irking at the thought of the blood dripping down his pale flesh.

He couldn't stand the sight, throwing up all the biscuits he'd eaten, and letting those in his hands fall all over the floor. Despite the nausea making his vision blurry, his ears were still sharp at the voice of his father yelling. "This is what happens when you disobey me! Who are you to decide for yourself when you know nothing? It's pathetic of you to think that you could shoulder such weight when you are nothing but a stick and bones."

Having heard enough, Zhan ran back to his room and shut the door close. His tutor then opened his eyes at the loud thud, looking at him in question. "What's wrong- you seem as though you've seen a ghost." Zhan swallowed, shaking his head. "N-no... I just... I should study." His tutor sighed, nodding it away. "Oh.. I apologise for falling asleep. I won't tell your father that you left the room for a break if you won't tell that I dozed off?"

Zhan was quick to nod, rushing back to his seat to study.

And that is when he woke up, his eyes hurting from the bright light of the sun. As he slowly came back to reality, his eyes looked around the moving boat he was in. The water splashed above him as they hit each wave, making him slightly jump from the pressure. "Fuck..."

Just then he heard someone yell, catching his attention completely. "Hey! Did you wake up yet??" Zhan sighed as he stood up and made his way to the front deck, later leaning onto the metal bars beside Wu Wei, who was at the moment driving the boat. "What the hell..."

"I figured you'd ask. You know that I was at the port fixing a boat last night. And as I was walking from the garage, I saw a familiar face walking past me. It was that idol... what was his name?" Zhan brushed his hair back with a sigh. His head was hurting. "Yibo... Wang Yibo.." Wei oh'ed. "Right- how did you know? Anyways, I thought that where he came from there'd be others and decided to give a glance. And that is when I found you asleep in your boat."

Zhan furrowed his brows, a little lost. "So you carried me to your boat and we've been driving in the sea the whole night??" Wei raised his brows. "It was only five AM when I came. So we've been driving the whole morning." The latter then checked his phone to see that it was half past 9, making him groan in annoyance. "Fuuuck... I said some really dumb shit last night." Wei gave him a look. "To who- that Yibo guy? I didn't know you hung out with him. Although... you did save him from that bastard at the bar the other night... is that why he was leaving with that sad look on his face?"

Zhan looked at him with big eyes, now getting worried. "He looked sad?" Wei shrugged. "I'm not sure. There could've been something in his eye too. Oh- HEY! STOP THAT AND SIT BACK!" He yelled at a person who was sunbathing at the front, making Zhan come to realise their existence only then. "That's my current lover by the way... she's a bit of an airhead but... until it's not fun anymore I guess."

Zhan covered his face with his hands, regretful of whatever had happened in that boat last night. But then again, who was he kidding? He couldn't have said anything else. He only made it clear that there was a line that should not be crossed. Yet why did he feel so stuffed from it? He really couldn't understand himself anymore. Or maybe he just thought he did in the past.
