It seemed like it was going to rain but that was not enough to make him stop from sitting where he was. The scenery before him was incredible as so was the wind which blew onto his neck. He loved it when it rained now, his previous thoughts on the matter not as memorable since his arrival to the cliffside.
He knew he had done good by purchasing a house by the forest as he was now blessed with immaculate sunsets and the sweet fragrance of pine trees swarming him all around. It was also the perfect place to escape to when being bothered by others. It was a hard spot to find as the navigation between the trees was almost impossible unless you were knowledgable in reading moss or the stars. So he could rest at ease and gather his mind without a worry, hoping that if someone were to come after him would get lost between the tall trees and fall in the pond which was not so far from where he stood.
The thought made him smile in amusement as he looked back down at the small drawing he had made with his stick on the soil.
The escape was good as so was his peace, yet the loneliness that emerged from within as moments past seemed inevitable, making him cover his face with his hands. Thinking of Zhan would be the least of things he'd wanted, but when his mind was empty so, his face would be the first thing to appear before his eyes. He wasn't sure if it was the anger that he had felt for him which was causing all of this misery, or if it was the very real fact that he was in actuality missing him very, very much.
Being apart from the person you had been reluctant to approach due to fear was what had caused him to step back each and every time. And Zhan's obtuse behaviour had been the end line for Yibo's waning heart. But he had been in the right to get angry at him nevertheless he thought, only so that he wouldn't feel the guilt of having been hurtful with his words towards him.
He knew that if things were bound to happen then they would, completely ignoring the fact that he desired him in every passing moment of his life. But that ignorance was caused only because he knew not to give way to a man who could hurt him. He had to set boundaries and let the latter be hurt so that he may offer him the security he'd always wanted.
That being the only thing he was coveting of, he let his mistrust stay the same and continued with watching the scenery. Thinking of it too much would always cause him to get thirsty and getting up at the moment was no longer an option as the sun before him had begun to set, showing only the most incredible scene many would die to see in their lifetime.
Back somewhere near the city in the meantime, there was another man who was readying his bags for a road-trip. His brother who stood by the stars on the other hand did not seem so pleased with his behaviour. "You're going to stare holes into me. What is it, spit it out."
Yichen sighed. His expression was serious, arms crossed. "I tell you that things will get better if it's meant to be and you decide to go for it nevertheless. I thought you didn't want to force him into it."
Zhan couldn't care less for his words but leaving an explanation seemed preferable still. "No one is forcing anyone. But I know that I've set my mind into this- I know I want him. No... I really need him. And I'm not coming back without him." Yichen sucked in his breath with thoughtful eyes. "If I will be here by the time you return- that I'm not sure of." Zhan gave him a glance. "You have gone without a word before, so I won't be expecting any less."
Yichen swallowed, later shaking his head. "No- I won't do that ever again. I meant that I will be working. And what you said to me last night was... a bit hurtful. But it was true. You're right, I have to redeem myself so that you can look up to me again. Big brothers are supposed to be there to teach their younger ones."
