The Pharmacy

After walking for about ten minutes, Kagami's eyes fell onto the pharmacy and she smiled in relief. They had made it without getting killed and it looked as though no one else was inside. Since telling Chishiya about Daiki's advice, he had a somewhat smug expression, but the two hadn't spoken much after the conversation. Kagami in particular was grateful for that, Chishiya's reaction to the advice was making her rethink her entire relationship with Niragi and she didn't have the mental capacity to face that and answer more questions.

"Alright, let's find some supplies." Chishiya said. His hands were back in his pockets and he was the first to enter the pharmacy with Kagami close behind him. Kagami stood back and watched as Chishiya wandered along the different isles and browsed the items. "So, any other stupid advice you were given?" He asked and Kagami rolled her eyes.

"Oh shut up. I wish I never told you that." She said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I don't." He replied simply. "What's worse? Pushing everyone away over a fear of abandonment caused by your parents and your idiotic brother or telling me about it so I can point it out?" Kagami said nothing, causing Chishiya to turn and look at her with a smirk. "The only downside I see is that I was wrong about you and Niragi. I honestly just thought you kept him around as a guard dog. But, you really did love him, didn't you? At least at one point." Kagami felt her skin crawl as she really took in the question. Chishiya was much more intelligent than she was and she figured he would see straight through her if she did her usual trick of avoiding the question.

"Yeah. Yeah, I did love him. Love is stupid like that." She shrugged, looking away from him. "I don't see how that's a downside though."

"Perspective." Chishiya mused as he picked up a tube of cream and moved back over to where Kagami was standing.

"Yeah? How so?" Kagami asked as Chishiya grabbed both of her arms and walked her backwards into a nearby chair. Almost falling into the chair, Kagami steadied herself and stared straight ahead as Chishiya moved to examine her head.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you." Chishiya said. "It's apart of my long game." He added somewhat teasingly and Kagami could practically hear the smirk. Looking around at him, her eyes fell onto his face and she was indeed right about the smirk.

"You're really starting to annoy me with this vagueness." She said with a slight ingenuine glare on her face. As Chishiya held her gaze, Kagami couldn't help but break her glare and smile instead. "It's a good thing you're attractive..." She mused, looking back ahead of her. "Vague, but attractive, smart and occasionally funny."

"That's how I feel about you." Chishiya replied back immediately. "Emotionally blind to anything to do with intimacy but attractive, funny and occasionally smart." He quipped and Kagami couldn't help but give him a look of begrudging approval.

Kagami sat silently as Chishiya treated the gash on her head and she was thankful that Chishiya had nothing more to say. She both loved and hated his wit, mostly because she wasn't able to talk her way out of things like she could with most other people. It both excited and infuriated her depending on the topic. That and Chishiya saw her, really saw her and that made Kagami more afraid than anything else. Her mind was also stuck on Chishiya's comment about her fear of abandonment. She had always enjoyed being alone, so how could she have a fear of abandonment? Especially when she had broken up with Niragi not once, but twice. The more Kagami thought about it, the more she found it harder to talk her brain into believing that Chishiya was wrong. In reality, both times that she had the courage to go through with it she had a safety blanket. The first time, five years ago, she had Daiki by her side and just recently, she had both Chishiya and Kuina.

Kagami's brow furrowed as she felt the weight of her actions rip apart her mind and everything she thought about herself. She had always known that she was just as bad as Niragi when it came to how they treated each other in their relationship. But now, she considered the fact that perhaps things wouldn't have gone the way they did if she hadn't of taken Daiki's advice. Maybe, it was really her that had created the monster Niragi had become and not Hachi or anyone else that treated him terribly. The worst part was, she couldn't even say she was sorry because Niragi was dead. He was dead and it was all her fault. The guilt weighed down heavier than anything she had ever felt before and tears were pooling in her eyes as she thought about the look of heartbreak on Niragi's face when she told him she would choose Chishiya over him.
