My uncle and his family are sitting on the other side of the room. This is awkward and confusing since we are all family so I don't understand why they would be sitted on the otherside from us like we are not family. This is really weird and I don't know man, something is not making sense. I know my uncle is an opportunist and will do anything in to get what he wants but I don't buy this whole thing about him trying to get a seat in the boardroom.

People begin to taketheir seats and the whole program starts and it looks like it's going to be a long night since they have many speakers who want to day something. My in-laws take their seats and their shots asks me to come sit with them since I'm 'part' of the family. I seat with them, next to aunty. Andile is not sitting with us, I have no idea where he is and I don't care. My mother in-law is happy tonight, she's whispering to her husband and giggling to what he's saying then would look at me now and then. My sister in-law is the MC for the night and she's doing a wonderful job.

The whole room is full with the who's who,  the people they work with and do business with. There's a gift table and you see different sizes of those gifts. I can just imagine what's inside. Their clients, friends and somenofnthe family members take the stage and say wonderful things about him and the company. Waiters bring starters as we listen to the many speeches people have prepared by sime of the board members. People are enjoying the night and drinking the many expensive bottles of champagne.

Andile finally decides to grace us withbhis presence as he walks in as one of the board members is talking. I watch him and I realize that I don't feel anything for him. To me he is just like another man who's just here. He's  a stranger to me, something  I never thought he would be. I gulp down my glass as he walks to our table and my brother gives me a disapproving look and I ignore him. God better help me and not let him sit next to me. His eyes shift to my family's table and he nods politely like my father didn't say something that spooked him before. I wonder what he said to him and knowing my father. He's not going to tell me. He takes a seat next to his brother in-law then looks at the stage. His aunt shakes his head.

My sister in-law takes the stage again after another business man leaves the stage. She's beautiful, happy and married for five years and has with a child. She and her husband have a four year old baby girl who's just amazing. She's a great host since she's making sure everyone is not getting bored with people giving long speeches.
" Before I call the main man on the stage, I  would like to say something." She takes a deep breath and seems to be getting emotional. I know this is a very big deal to her cause this company is what it is today because of her as the person who deals with all the public relations of the company.

" I was 27 when I finally joined the family business after my father begged me for one last time. I thought it was going to be hard cause we were going to be around each other mist of the time but it wasn't. It was amazing cause I got to share the experience my father has for the finest things. His love for designing. Every piece you designed had a very special meaning to you, us and everyone who loves our work. You have taken this company to the next level with your creativity and you will continue to do so with your creative team. We are not just a Modern & Luxury Designer company but so much more than that. The House of M is one of the best companies and number 1 out of the three companies in the country that still make handcrafted furniture.

Our love for designing and seeing a product come to life came from you. You taught us everything we know about designing and appreciating the littlest things about what takes something to be what it is. Dad, thank you for everything you have done for us as a family and especially this company cause 20 years is not a joke. Today we celebrate The House of M. Thank you"

We all clap for her then her father takes the stage. We all stand up and clap for him as he takes the stage. He hugs his daughter, says a few words to her that make her giggle. We continue to clap for him until we sit down then it goes quiet. We are waiting for him to say his speech. He takes the microphone then clears his throat.
