Chapter 30

JEn's POV

Two weeks went by since that night in my room talking to Ash. Sighing I focused back to what I was doing which was cleaning out one of the kennels that we kept the dogs in. Dom walked over to me and said, "So what's got you zooning in and out?"

"Nothing really. I guess just things are starting to look up for me. I'm going to college even though I'm not even sure what I want to be," I told Dom.

"Well going to college meaning you'll find out. Also I know that you will be living with your brother so that will be a lot cheaper on you. I'm glad that you are doing something." Said Dom.

I knew what he meant. Going to college for me was something big. Glancing at the clock I noticed that it was almost the end of my shift for the day. Sighing I looked at Dom and said, "Do you think I am doing the right thing by going to college?"

Dom studied my face and said, "Yes because of the fact that you are finally deciding to see what you want out of this life, and I am happy about that."

Dom was right. The animal shelter didn't keep many people for long. Dom and I were the longest workers there besides our bosses and we would see people come and go. Dom and I would train the newcomers.

"Just know because you are going to college doesn't mean you have to change who you are. Just be yourself and you'll do fine. I know you'll be living with your bother and still working here, but you'll be moving forward, and I am happy to be part of your life moving forward," Dom said.

I smiled and nodded my head until Dom said, "Now quiet avoiding my original question, who has you all daydreaming?"

I sighed and said, "Just someone who I've known for a while know. I think I've been close with him before the whole Andy thing. Yet I'm not sure if we will be a thing. I don't want to be known as a band whore or anything. I just want to find someone but with everything happening I'll just focused on me for a while."

"What if he asked you to go out on a date with him?" Dom Asked.

"Then I would have to talk it over with everyone I trust first and that includes you Mr. Fanboy," I said.

"Hey who said I was a fan of this guy?" Dom asked.

"Because you know of him. Anyways I'm done here. I'm going to check out. See you later," I said.

Walking out of the shelter after checking out for the day I saw Jinxx and Cassie with Ash, Tommy and Mai. I walked over to the car and noticed that there wasn't any room. I opened the door and Cassie jumped out and said, "I've missed you."

"Okay I have only been gone like five hours," I told her.

"I know. But I just wanted to tell you that Jinxx is taking me out on a date and Tommy is going to take Mai out," said Mai.

Now I knew why she jumped out of the car now. Cassie couldn't hide her happiness from anyone. I looked at Jinxx and I knew then that he realized something and that was me being home alone by myself.

"So anyways how am I supposed to get home when there is no room in Jinxx car?" I asked.

"Well Mai could sit on Tommy's lap, and you can sit next to Ash," said Cassie.

I nodded my head and got into the car after Mai got onto Tommy's lap. We all left the animal shelter and I just looked out the window and I felt Ash looking at me. I didn't mind, it wasn't creepy, it was nice knowing that some other than four people that I live with cared about me.

That night I was in my room just reading a book when someone knocked on my door. I looked up and saw Jinxx. He was dressed up nice for his date with Cassie.

"Jen, are you going to be, okay?" He asked me.

I looked away and said, "I'll be fine. Just go on your date with my best friend."

"Last time I left you alone you were taken away from me. Would it be okay if I were to leave Ash here with you?" Jinxx asked me.

I froze and looked up at him. Jinxx was watching me, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to get out of this one. I sighed again and said, "I guess you can."

"Jen, I know something is going on between you two. I've seen it the night when Dom killed him. I've seen how Ash acts around you. And he hasn't really been bringing girls around besides that one, but he broke it off with her around the time you applied to a community college." Said Jinxx.

I looked up and said, "Why did he do that?"

"The day he broke it off with her, I think you were working. Anyways Cassie was folding clothes and she walked into your room and that girl was in here. I forgot her name, so let's call her A. Anyways A was in here and Cassie asked her what she was doing. A said that she was looking around the house. Cassie said that this room was off limits since the owner wasn't home. A said I thought Jinxx owns this room. Cassie says Jinxx and his sister owns the house, and his sister isn't home and therefore you shouldn't be in here. A, then ran out of the room and came downstairs and said something to Ash. Cassie came down and said that A was in your room. Ash asked her if that was true. A said that she was only looking. Then Cassie said that A was looking at your necklaces and found on that your father gave you. A had it on. Cassie walked over to her and took it off and said to get out. Ash asked her what she was thinking. A said, that Ash has been looking at you every time that they came over. Ash told her that they were over. Cassie hit her and told her that. A ran out crying. Ash picked up your necklace and walked into your room and placed it where you had it. Then I asked him what was going on and he told me." Jinxx said.

I sighed and looked away and said, "Jinxx I don't know."

"Jen just talk to him. I just don't want to leave you two alone and if anything happens and he breaks your heart he has already been warned by everyone even Andy and Juliet. But I gave him a talking to. But I've noticed how he's been looking at you long before you even gotten with Andy. I know Ash will be your first real boyfriend and I told him to take it slow or go at the pace that you set. I want what's best for you. Now I have to go. I'll see you later." Said Jinxx as he walked out my door.
