6:51am,
D'Hôtel Royale,
Ibadan.

Yara rubbed her sleepy eyes and stumbled towards the door, surprised to see Adam standing there so early in the morning, fully dressed and ready to leave.

"Hey, Yara. Sorry to wake you up so early, but I have to head home now. Are you okay with meeting up with Bode and Teng for the church wedding?"

She yawned and scratched her face, trying to fully wake up. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine with that. What time is it?"

"It starts at 10, so you should get going after breakfast. And don't worry, Bode will take care of everything." Adam assured her with a smile and Yara nodded.

"I'll get ready then and meet them after breakfast.
Is that okay?"

"Great, I'm sure you'll have a good time. Just remember, they're both great guys, so be yourself and have fun. I'll catch you guys at the church."

She nodded again, playing a sleepy smile on her sleepy face, and feeling grateful for Adam's reassuring words.

As Adam left the suite, Yara sat back down on her bed, feeling a mix of emotions. She was excited to attend the wedding, but also a little nervous about spending the day with Bode and Teng. Ever since Adam told her Teng had asked for her number the previous night, she'd fallen asleep and woken up expecting a text at least from him, but nothing, making her even more nervous. She quickly pushed those thoughts aside as she fell with her back on the bed, reminding herself to just focus on enjoying the wedding and not be distracted by her own flimsy feelings.

About three hours later, Yara was humming along to the lively tunes and catchy lyrics of the afrobeat music that filled her hotel room, lifting her spirit as she went to the wardrobe in her underwear.

Room service had brought in her breakfast earlier, and she had enjoyed a cup of steaming tea and a plate of freshly made waffles with syrup and whipped cream. And after that, she had taken a long, relaxing shower, allowing the warm water to soothe her muscles and calm her nerves, mentally preparing her for the long festive day ahead.

With a lopsided smile, she picked out a dress, one her mum had got for her back in New York specifically for this occasion and immediately got into it. The elegant lavender off-the-shoulder corset tulle beaded dress stopped just short of her knees and hugged her figure aptly and she paired it with matching stiletto heels and clutch purse. Marie Sulza was quite the fashionista who always knew what looked best on her beautiful daughter.

Yara stood in front of the full-length mirror and fastened the zip of her dress, wondering what the bride and groom would be wearing, what the venue would look like, what kind of food would be served and the kinds of things that'd take place there. She had never been to a Nigerian wedding before, and the idea of experiencing a new culture filled her with anticipation and gratitude, for the opportunity to be a part of Tiara's special day. It was an experience that would stay with her for a long time.

She found herself swaying to the music as she applied some lipstick and mascara. She smoothed out the dress, adjusted her earrings and necklace, and brushed out her curly hair. Taking a look at herself in the mirror, Yara took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, smiling at her reflection, feeling confident and beautiful in her outfit. She planted one hand on her stomach, trying to calm the dancing butterflies.

She sprayed on a light perfume, and as she was about to grab her purse and head to the door, her phone rang. To her surprise, it was Teng, telling her that he and Bode were ready, waiting for her in the lobby, and asking her to take her time. Yara smiled at the thought of them waiting for her but she assured him she was on her way down.
