11:39pm,
D'Hôtel Royale,

Back in the serene cocoon of their hotel room, excitement still tingling on their skin, Ada and Simi finally shed their wedding outfits and accessories. The day had been a whirlwind of activities and emotions, and now they were eager to relax. Laughter danced in their eyes as they talked, replaying scenes and stories from the wedding event, the Coker's family, the lovely round off dinner, up until when they saw Tiara and her husband off to the local airport for their fancy honeymoon trip. Their giggles echoed through the room, above the sound that came from the TV.

"I can't believe Tiara's wedding is over, that we're finally out of these dresses," Ada exclaimed, flopping down onto the bed with a relived sigh. "I thought I was going to suffocate in mine. It's been a long ass day."

"Tell me about it. I think I lost feeling in my toes hours ago. Weddings can be hectic but I can't wait for your wedding day. God, it's going to be epic!"

They both laughed, settling into the cozy ambiance of the room. As they gisted about the day's events, the conversation took an unexpected turn.

"Can you believe Shaffy and Adam are actually related? Like how?" Ada chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "It's like fate played a weird card."

Simi, walking into the bathroom wearing a loose, comfortable robe smirked, "Yeah, fate does have a quirky sense of humor."

"Isn't it too coincidental though?" Ada propped herself up in the bed, supporting her weight on her elbows and her face grew serious. "It crossed my mind on our way to the airport when Tiara talked about her late brother and then went mute all of a sudden. Something felt off. Remember, Shaffy was also related to Stone too, your best friend that passed? Wasn't that how you two met? And she's Tiara's aunty. Just imagine if it turns out that they are all somewhat related too? Wouldn't that be crazy?" Ada's words came out casually, but they resonated deeply with Simi, striking a chord and igniting a flurry of thoughts. She hadn't thought of it like that. Anyhoo, it was impossible because for all she knew, Shaffy was Stone's old friend who saved her life after he died.

"I'm just saying," Ada added when she didn't get any response and she shrugged it off.

Just then, a knock on the door came through. Ada frowned, glancing at the entrance before walking over to open it. Her eyes widened in surprise as she found Adam standing there. Speak of the devil.

"Adam? Didn't expect to see you till tomorrow." She smiled faintly.

"Hey Ada. I'm so sorry to come unannounced and so late. I know it's been a crazy day for you guys but, I have some important things to ask her. Is Simi here? I've been trying to call her for over an hour now." Adam's voice held an undercurrent of urgency and his eyes seemed to hold secrets that bothered Ada.

With a disturbing expression, she replied, "Yeah, she is. Her phone died, she's charging up already. What's up?"

Simi's voice floated from the bathroom, concern lacing her words, "Who's that? Is everything okay?"

The answer hung heavy in the air as Adam's gaze met Ada's. There was a silent understanding that words weren't necessary – everything was far from okay.

"Do you wanna come in?" Ada asked.

"Nah, I'll be in the lobby, can you please tell her to join me there?" His voice was steady, masking the turmoil beneath.

"Um, sure," Ada replied, her brows furrowed with curiosity.

As the door closed slowly, Ada's mind raced. What could be so urgent that he had come to see Simi like this all of a sudden? Especially at the same moment when they were just talking about his family. She exchanged a worried glance with Simi, who had now returned from the bathroom.
