"You did great back there. Very impressive. I liked the energy. And the way you connect with those guys, you're really a star Simi.  I can't wait for this tour to begin," Ada commended where they stood by Simi's balcony, their regular spot after a long day. "Within the past days, your streams have increased on major platforms by approximately 15% and engagement on social media 20%. Your name has been coming up a lot of recent searches and people are asking for more videos of you and for your debut album.
There's a hashtag campaign going on right now and they're making short videos of them vibing to your songs. We have to make use of this opportunity. Fergie is going to email you the report tonight so you can see what I'm talking about.
My point is, they're talking about you out there and they're going to talk about it for a long time I promise you. I just need you to interact more with your fan base. They want to see more of you."
Listening to her manager give the lowdown of their progress in just few days brightened her spirits and her eyes glinted. "I don't even know what to say. It's happening so fast. I can't believe I have almost 100k followers right now. It was just 15k some days back. You're really doing a great job with me Ada." She smiled at her manager/friend as they sipped the glass of soda spiked with vodka and some ice that Ada had mixed for them. She smiled back, satisfactorily. Everything was finally adding up. She was making a star.
The dance sessions had been over three hours ago, Akay and Tony had driven out, the dance team had returned to their hotel and Simi just woke up from a nap. Also thanks to Ada.
The sun had set early, it was getting darker and the clouds were gathering too. One could easily tell with the hint of breeze that it was going to rain.
"That reminds me, I checked your fridge, this is the last bottle of vodka in your house and you barely have any food in there too. We need to do some food stuff and grocery shopping for you Simi."
"Yeah, I've been thinking about it too. This weekend maybe?"
"It's weekend already Simi."
"True that. Tomorrow evening then. If you're not going to be busy anyway."
"Tomorrow evening sounds right. I'll be probably be here before that."
Simi removed her legs from the slippers and Ada watched as she took a lying position on the chair, adjusting the arm pillow under her head.
"So ... how was your meeting yesterday? I'm actually curious because it's obvious it had a positive impact on you. Was it your brother? Your mum? Was it Shaffy, your therapist? Who's she by the way? You never talk about her."
"She's not a therapist. She's just a mutual friend with an old friend. Something like that."
"Do you mean... Stone?"
Simi turned and looked at her, her eyes widened.
"Don't look surprised. I've been working with you closely for years now. I know that much.
Where is he now though? When last did you meet? Did you guys  ever date? ... Was he like your first love?"
She obviously didn't know much because she was asking a lot of questions.
"He died. He was my friend. Shaffy is his aunt. His mother's stepsister. They were really close and we only met after he died. She's being a friend of mine ever since."
