Simi's residence,
Peller's Close
Abuja, NG

Simi lived alone in a newly renovated and spacious duplex in Peller's close. Fully furnished studio with a lobby, a dance room and a small office on the first floor, and a bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom, a cozy living room with TV and Netflix, a small reading corner, a dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen on the upper floor—it was the perfect building for her.

Grazing the tip of her rolled marijuana against the ash tray, she dropped it before she sat in one of the patio chairs in the balcony of her apartment, about to tie the laces of her boots, getting ready for the long day at the studio and still brooding over all the thoughts that took perfect rain sleep from her the previous night; Adam, Stone and the tour project they were now working on. Her career was taking another step and a part of her still quivered thinking about it, her mind was unsettled. She thought of her family too, her mother Janet and her brother. She hadn't seen them since she returned from Ibadan.

Not sure yet what to expect but Ada had told her it was going to be dance sessions for the rest of the week and the Supreme Dance Crew from Mr. Lanre had arrived, waiting downstairs at her studio already. They got in like two minutes ago.

Carrying her tray with her, Simi returned into her living room and dropped it on the glass center table when a knock came through.

"Come in." She packed her dreads up with a band as Ada made her way into the clouded house.

"He! My God, Simi. What have you been up to this morning?" Her manager started as she approached, her faced squeezed with disgust from all the musky smell. That was her second time seeing Simi that morning, first was an hour when she came to wake her up.

"What do you mean?" Simi retorted, picking up the remote and turning off the music that played from the stereo.

"Don't tell me you've been smoking again. I thought you were going to take a break from all these for now. I thought we talked about it."

"No you said I should take a break but we never finished that conversation. Don't get dramatic on me this morning. It's still too early. What's up? How's it going down there?"

Ada sighed loudly. "Everyone is here now, except for AJ. I told you he's travelling to Owerri today and since most of what we're doing this week is dance, I said no problem. Mr. Lanre sent three of their best dancers and they're in the studio. Damn! You should see these guys, they're like the best best. And this is about to be massive publicity for us. The one that has the least followers has 500k followers on Instagram. And she can't even wait to meet you. She's 'ecstatic'" She stressed the C

"Really. How do I look?"

"You look dope. Wait are those boots Chanel? When did you order these?"

"On our way from Ibadan. They're cool right?"

"Yes, I love them. They suit your pants perfectly. Simi oya pick your phone and let's head down there. I told them I wouldn't keep them waiting. I hope you're ready for this or do you need my moral support? Sorry who am I kidding? After all these smoke in here. I'm sure you already had all the support you need."

Simi chuckled and she led the way out of her apartment towards the stairs, locking the door behind them. She knew she wasn't ready.

"I'm back! Simi is here! The star is here!"

Ada announced immediately she pushed the door and everyone was alerted. Mr. Akay and Tony where they sat in front of the monitors by the booth laughed at her and exchanged morning greetings with Simi.
