With a mixture of excitement and fear, my heart was racing as I entered the Economics 101 classroom. I looked around the room cautiously, and when I finally saw Damien, my heartbeat accelerated. When our eyes locked, I experienced a wave of emotions that conflicted with my need to remain guarded and my want to be vulnerable with him.

I glanced away and noticed Laura sitting at her desk. She shone like a beacon because to her remarkable beauty and self-assured manner. When Professor Darby finally strode into the room, the electricity in the room was palpable.

Though I tried to concentrate on the lesson, I couldn't get rid of the feeling that Damien was observing me. I forced myself to pay attention despite my worries because I wanted to take full advantage of this teaching moment. As soon as the bell sounded, I had a sudden feeling of relief.

I knew the conversation was imminent, and I had been dreading it. My phone buzzed and sure enough, it was a text from Damien. Since I hadn't seen him in months, I was kind of interested to hear what he had to say.

However, deep down I understood that there was no chance of reconciliation restoring our connection since it had long since ended. I compelled myself to proceed and made my way down the corridor. The night had taken hold of me and I was feeling very alone, buried in my own thoughts.

I was thinking about everything from remorse to confusion to rage as I made my way to my flat. The only thing that was on my mind, despite my desperate desire to make sense of the situation and put my feelings in perspective, was "What does love feel like?"I was tired and overwhelmed when I got to my apartment.

I stripped off my clothing and went into the shower, allowing the hot water to soothe my anxieties. I sat there, letting the warm embrace of my shower's steam wrap me, for what seemed like an eternity. After a while, I came out of the restroom and fixed myself some cold noodles.

As I ate in silence, I thought back on the day's events and the several unresolved questions that were on my mind. No matter how sincere her explanations were, she realized she had to make a stance and stop making them. Damien had been offered numerous opportunities by her to earn her forgiveness, but he had fallen short on each occasion.

She had to make it clear that this behavior was unacceptable, and he would have to work hard to earn her confidence again if he truly wanted her back. She let go of the glass gradually and with a deep breath, the last of her rage finally fading. Even though it hurt, Katelyn felt she had made the correct choice and that it was the proper thing to do.

After hanging up, Katelyn stared at the lukewarm ziti noodles in front of her. Taking a deep breath and wiping away her tears, she resolved not to let anyone else define her future. She was aware that she needed to regain control over her own destiny.

Katelyn, full of courage, grabbed up her plate of ziti noodles and strode out the door, prepared to take on her future. Whatever it took, she was going to carve out her own path. She was too traumatized to be discouraged by anything or anyone. Nobody could instruct her on what actions to take or who to become.

She was confident in her own identity and prepared to face the world. Katelyn took her time writing her biology essay because she wanted to learn all there was to know about the subject. After spending hours reading and planning her answers, this was her chance to show that she could handle challenging questions.

The discussion became uncomfortable as she dug deeper into the topic's complexity; tension seemed to be surrounding her from behind. A uncomfortable silence that persisted into the night was caused by the clock's increasing ticking and her mother's growing attention. She understood that this was her opportunity to advocate for herself and feel like she was valued by herself.
