Ross' Chapter:
“Woah, Ross,” Ryland called from the computer room, “come here!”
“What's up?” I asked, walking in to the room, my famous leather jacket in hand.
“Look at how many hits Roxy's video has.” I leaned over the computer chair to get a better look at the screen. “Almost nine hundred hits since we uploaded it.” I glanced down to the bold numbers. He was right! 889 views since last month.
My jaw dropped. “That's amazing!” I ran my fingers through my blond hair, a goofy smile on my face. “Hey, can you tell mom and dad I'm going to hang out with Rox tonight?”
“Yeah, sure, no problem.” He grinned to me. “Tell Rox I said hey.” In one swift motion, I had my jacket on and I was heading out to my car.
Before I drove to Roxy's house, I made a quick stop to the gas station, where I headed straight to the magazine rack. Barely skimming the different magazines, I grabbed the one I knew was going to my my girl smile.
Twenty minutes later, I was knocking on the front door, surprised to see her foster dad. “Hey, Ross.” he greeted with a smile. “Rox's in the kitchen with Grace.”
Together, we walked to the back of the house were we found our ladies in a deep conversation and the baby sitting on Grace's hip. When Roxy glanced over to me, her face broke out in to a gleaming smile.
She walked over and gave me a hug. “What are you doing here?” With confusion, I explained to her that we had plans to hang out tonight. Her smile faded.
“What?” My voice was cautious.
“Tonight's their anniversary, and I kinda volunteered to babysit the kids.” Roxy rushed to explain. “I totally forgot about the movies.”
I glanced from my girlfriend to her fosters. I couldn't help but notice how nice they looked. I smiled back to Roxy. “I understand.” Then an idea came to mind, I turned to Michael. “If it's okay with you, I wouldn't mind staying and helping Roxy with the kids.”
Michael glanced over to his wife, she nodded her head. The tall man looked back to me. “That's fine with us.” He looked down to his watch. “Gracie sweetie, we have to go.”
Roxy took little Mikey from Grace's hands. “Have a good time guys.” As Michael tried to pull his wife way, she was calling out random spurts of information. We just waved goodbye until they were out of the house.
I turned to my girl, a giant smile on my face as I pulled out the magazine. “What?” She asked with curiosity in her green eyes.
I didn't say anything. I flipped to a page in the magazine, letting her read it for herself. “So true, so false: R5 extras in a new music video?” She mumbled, her words speeding up as she got excited. “So true! R5, an up and coming band, who recently released their own music video, was in a music video with Old School Photo, an Internet band. Why might you ask? The lead singer, Roxy Hill, is Ross' girlfriend!”
I think she was going to pass out. But instead, she threw her arms around my neck. Just as we were about to go in for a kiss, I heard a high pitched squeal coming from the door.
“Ew!” Krystal waved her hands, as if that would make Roxy and I stop kissing.
My blondie rested her head on my chest, trying so hard not to laugh as she asked what her sister wanted. “Is dinner ready?”
