Ross' Chapter
“This feels like that scene from A Cinderella Story.” Roxy whispered as we swayed to the soft music in the park after I asked her to prom.
“Better be talking about the one with Hilary Duff, not the one with Selena Gomez.” I joked with her. She laughed out loud, hiding her face in my neck.
“Why do you know that?” She mumbled through her chuckles.
“Well, I'm sorry my older sister made me watch that movie like five hundred times since it's come out.” I defended myself with laughter.
I gave her a spin, into a dip. She looked beautiful as her blond hair flew around. I spun her back into my arms, just wanting to hold her forever. “I love you.”
~~~
“Bye guys!” Roxy called out as we walked out of the van and towards my car. Everybody waved bye as they walked into the house.
I opened her door before running to my side of the car. “I can't believe we're going to prom.” She glowed. I reached over and held her hand.
“Believe it, cause it's happening.” I kissed her hand. I know I was smiling like an idiot, but I honestly don't care.
When we got to her house, I parked the car, but instead of getting out of the car, we faced each other, holding hands. “Today was amazing, Ross.” She whispered, moving a piece of my blond hair.
“And hopefully we have many more days like it.” I smiled.
Roxy grinned. “Do you ever think about it?” She looked to me. “The future I mean.”
“Of course I do.” I rubbed the back of her hand. “And you're always in it.” That got her attention, she demanded to know what I thought about. “I think about our music, you know, touring and albums.” I lowered my head, trying to hid my blushing. “But I also think about us getting married, starting a family, cause I defiantly want kids.”
“How many?”
I thought for a moment. “Two, a boy and a girl”
“And of course the boy has to come first, right?” She snickered. I leaned over and kissed her lips. I felt her lips working with mine, her hands starting to play with my hair.
I smiled in the kiss, resting my hands on her hips. She pulled away with a vicious smile on her face. “Ross...”
I sighed, but pulled my hands away. She looked at the dashboard. “I should probably get inside.”
As she got out of the car, she looked back at me and raised an eyebrow. “Aren't you gonna walk me in?”
I faked a heavy sigh, uncapping my seatbelt. She playfully rolled her eyes, waiting for me. I walked up to her, slipping my hand into hers.
“Grace, I'm home!” Roxy called out as we walked in. She stopped short, her grip on my hand was deathly. I looked over to her with confusion. “Pierce? What are you doing here?”
Her voice was raspy, her green eyes were misty. I looked over to the couch where her former best friend was sitting. My eyes narrowed in on him. “What are you doing here?!” I released her hand and stormed over to the idiot. I was so ready to fight this puck, especially since he ran away the last time I saw him.
Pierce stood up. “Look, I'm not here to cause any trouble, I just want to talk to Roxy.” He looked to her with sad eyes. “Rox, I wanted to say sorry. I know what I did wrong.”
He tried to move towards her, but I stepped in front my girlfriend. “Don't.” I warned him, crossing my arms.
“Ross.” She rested her hand on my shoulder, whispering.
“Roxy, can we just talk please?” Pierce pleaded. “Alone.”
I looked back at Roxy. “Kitchen, now.” I stormed out of room, leaving Roxy to follow me.
“Please tell me you're not thinking about talking to that jerk.” I fumed. She looked down. I hit the counter with my hand. “Rox, do you not remember what he did to you?”
I could see the tears forming in her eyes. “OF COURSE I DO!” She touched her face. “How could I forget!?”
“Than why do you want him here?” I yelled.
“Ross, he was my best friend, how could I not hear what he has to say? Didn't you hear out Laura when you two fought?” I huffed and puffed.
“That was different.” I gritted through my teeth. “And you know that!” I didn't even listen to her, I stormed out of the kitchen. I saw Pierce standing in the living room.
I stormed up to him and grabbed the front of his shirt. “IF you so much as lay a finger on her, it will be the last thing you will ever do.” I gritted through my teeth. “Got it?!”
Pierce looked scared out of his whits, but he nodded his head. I shoved him off of me. I stormed out of the house, slamming the door loud enough for Roxy to hear.
~~~
When I walked into the house, I ran up to my room. I slammed my door shut. Out of anger, I slammed my fist into the wall. “AH!” I punched it again.
“What is going on?!” Riker demanded to know, storming into the room with concern.
I threw myself onto my bed. “Stupid Pierce is at Roxy's house right now!”
Riker sat on Ryland's bed. “Why is he there?”
“He wants to talk with her,” I sighed. “I don't trust him.”
“Then... why did you leave her with him?” Riker pushed. I told him everything that happened. He got up from the bed and started to walk away.
“Where are you going?” I sat up.
He held up his phone. “I'm gonna call her, just to make sure she's okay.” He said somberly, walking away.
Riker was out of the room for about two minutes before walking back in. “She wants to talk to you.”
I jumped off the bed and grabbed the phone. “Roxy, are you okay?!” I may have acted like a jerk at her house, doesn't mean I don't care.
“Yeah,” She sighed. “I'm fine.” Neither of us said anything for a moment. “I told him to leave.”
“I'm sorry, Roxy, you were right to want to talk with him.” I ran my fingers through my hair. “Why'd you tell him to leave?”
“I didn't want to talk to him without you next to me.” She explained. My heart fluttered.
I nodded my head, but realized that she couldn't see me. “Okay, so when do you want to talk to him?” I could tell she was surprised. “I'll be there when ever you need.”
“Thank you Ross.” She whispered. We continued to talk for what seemed like a minute, but it must have been much longer cause I started to feel my eyes getting heavy. I turned off the lights and laid in the bed, just talking with my girl.
It got to the point where neither of us were talking, just listening to each other breathing. I wish she was her with me.
“Ross!” I was being awaken from my sleep by Riker. “Dude, can I have my phone back please?”
I yawned. As I grabbed the phone, I looked at the amount of time Roxy and I talked. 2 hours and 58 minutes. Opps...
