Breanna POV
In my room, I smiled excitingly as Bella combed my hair a few times. Of course it usually irritates me but I was too excited to notice. This was officially the second week of being in middle school after my first week turned out amazing. Maybe this'll be even greater. She chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Someone's happy." She teased. I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled. "Duh. It's our second week as middle schoolers! My first week was great!" I beamed. She smiled sheepishly. "I'm surprised you're excited. Most kids wish they wouldn't come after their first week." She said. I hummed in response. "Theirs sucked you mean?" I asked sarcastically. Bella nodded. "That didn't happen to me. Me and Alice met some girls who are twelve who loves hanging out with us." I mentioned. She looked at me curiously. "Would it be those girls from your birthday sleepover?" She asked. I smiled and nodded. She cleared her throat and turned my chair to her. "Little sis, a little advice here. Remember to befriend people only because they like you as you are. Not because you dress great or you're a celebrity's kid. First instance Alice do." She advised. I nodded in understanding. "Thanks Bels. Honestly, those girls do like me for me. Besides I have made a good impression during my first week so how bad this'll be?" I spoke. Bella sighed. "Whatever you say." She mumbled. "Are you done?" I asked, smiling. "Nope!" She said before putting the hair comb down. My hair was nicely combed through. She wrapped it into two buns with two curled strands from using the curling iron. She giggled. "Now I'm done." She told me. I cheered and hopped off the chair. "Kids, let's go!" Mom yelled from downstairs. Bella smiled. "Bernard must be here. Get your backpack." She told me. I nodded and grabbed my backpack which had my homework from last Friday. We rushed downstairs and walked to the kitchen. Unfortunately, there's no breakfast on the counter. Jace frowned. "Food!" He fake whined. "What happened to breakfast?" Bella asked confusedly. Mom smirked. "Dad's on his way with Tim Hortons." She told us. We cheered happily but Bella flunked herself on the couch. "But you'll have to eat it in the car. You're almost late." She continued. We nodded in understanding. Jace exhaled a deep breath. "Long as I get more TV time." He said, smirking. He flunked himself beside Bella and changed the channel. She sighed annoyedly. A snicker slipped out my lips. Mom smiled sweetly. "Excited for second week?" She asked. I returned the gesture. "Yup! It'll be great!" I beamed. Jace snickered but I didn't hear him. Bella smacked his shoulder crazily. "Ow!" He whispered painfully. She hummed in response. "Why?" She asked. I smiled excitingly. "Remember those girls from my birthday sleepover? They really like me so much. We met on the first day and things turned out awesome!" I told her. Mom returned the gesture while clapping her hands. "Aww sweet! That's good. I knew you'd all have a good time." She said. Jace smirked. "Has she told you their age?" He blurted. Her head whipped at him. "What?- I cut her off. "Nothing! He said have I mentioned they liked my outfit from my first day!" I lied. She looked at me suspiciously and raised an eyebrow. "No. Don't think that's what he said...." She trailed off. Bella smiled nervously. "Might wanna tell her Bri or she'll find out later." She told me. Mom fake smiled and nodded in agreement. I inhaled a deep breath. "They're twelve." I quickly said. Her eyes slightly widened. "Oh! Well, that's...alright hon. Honestly, as long as you be yourself and don't live up to being like the older kids. Ok?" She said. I nodded and mentally breathed a breath of relief. Jace scoffed. "Older kids who would throw her lunch in the trash." He whispered in Bella's ear. She growled, thumping his forehead. "Ow! Your nails are sharp!" He growled in pain. I almost spoke until the front door unlocked. Dad arrived with our Tim Hortons breakfast. Mom laughed. "Let's go!" She said. I cheered as they raced to the kitchen.

On the way, we finished breakfast and got out the car. Dad dropped off Bella first. He hugged, kissing our foreheads. "Bye! Do good! Have a good day!" He said, smiling. We returned the gesture. "Bye Dad!" We said in unison before going inside the school. Jace whistled, catching up to his friends's lockers. "Breanna!" A familiar voice called. Alice was beside our lockers. I smiled and hugged her. She hugged back. "How are you? First week was amazing!" She beamed. We parted. "I know! I'm excited to see the girls too! Haven't seen them much since my sleepover." I told her. Alice exhaled a deep breath unsurely. "Um Bri...I'm not sure about them. Look don't take this the wrong way but I don't think I trust them. Didn't you notice anything odd lately?" She asked. I looked at her confusedly. "Nope. Like what?" I asked. She motioned me to come closer. "You see- I was cut off by three familiar voices. "Hi girls!" They including Penelope sing-songed. Alice sighed quite annoyedly. They'd always come with that greeting since the first day. It's a little too squeaky but ok. The girls are Penelope, Jane and Dana. Penelope is obviously a leader of the threesome—or fivesome, eh? She is practically popular in middle school for two reasons. One is being sociable, two her fashion sense. She smiled nicely. "Hey! You two look absolute great today. New headband? New hairstyle?" She asked. Alice fake smiled. "Yes. You?" She spoke sarcastically. I was grateful Penelope didn't notice so she giggled. "Always! See?" She said, referring to her strand being purple. Cute! I'd wish Mom would let me dye my hair someday. They kept chattering about her hair as we opened our lockers to put our books away. Instantly, they gasped shockingly. We shared confusion. What's wrong? Jane smiled amusedly. "You were right Pen!" She said. Dana returned the gesture. "She does love JoJo Siwa!" She said. I turned to my wallpaper of JoJo in my locker. "Uh...guys- Penelope cut me off. "Hm. Guess I been right all along. Lizzy and Bryce's cute adorable daughter has a thing for JoJo Siwa. It's all proof. Your clothes, your locker and your room." She said, smiling meanly. I looked at her in disbelief. "What are you talking about?" I asked. Jane giggled wickedly. "Shall we explain?" She asked. Alice growled. "Yes! Talk!" She demanded. They glared silently. Penelope pulled out her phone and smirked. "During your birthday sleepover, I was able to take pictures of your room when you both went to make popcorn and drinks. Before this we thought why not be friends with their daughter so we can come to her house? Meet her Mom? Especially her quite cute brother?" She explained. My eyes widened...full of hurt. Alice growled. "You only used us to meet her parents?!" She asked angrily. Jane laughed rudely. "Duh!" She told her. Dana fake smiled. "Not to mention her weird obsession with JoJo Siwa. Seriously? Everyone knows she suck! The girl literally acts like a drunk eight year old with a bow!" She joked. They laughed including Penelope. She smirked meanly. "And here is her cute little baby! Bet she doesn't even wear bras either!" She joked which made them giggle. Tears were threatening to escape. How could I have been so dumb? The bell immediately rung. She playfully waved. "Bye little girls!" She said rudely. Alice growled, flipping her off and taking me to class.

Being in a bathroom was all it took for me to hide from Penelope. They kept making fun of me whenever we leave classes. Tears fell freely from my eyes. Alice gave me tissues and hugged me. I hugged back. "It's my fault Alice. Should've listened to you or to Bella. I should've never trusted them." I spoke a bit hoarsely. We parted. She scoffed and smiled. "Don't blame yourself. Who cares if they know you love JoJo? They're just jealous cause they want your life. Nobody likes Penelope anyway but they like you which infuriates her. Besides, she's wrong on one thing." She said. "What?" I quickly asked. "You have a bra." She told me. A giggle managed to escape my lips. She chuckled. I frowned, knowing Penelope will show the pictures everywhere. "But she has the pictures. I'll be humiliated through high school and forever." I whined. She smirked confidently. "Follow my lead." She told me as we left the bathroom. Penelope sat on the staircase giggling with the girls. Alice walked up to them. Jane fake smiled. "Look who's here! Girls from a candy store!" She mocked. They chuckled. "Why are you here?" Penelope asked. Alice smiled sweetly. "Gosh! I love your phone case Pen! Where did you get it? I'd hope to ask my Mom for a case like this! May I?" She asked. Penelope shrugged and handed her the phone. "What sparkles you like? Black sparkles or pink?" She asked. "Black duh!" She answered. Dana smirked. "Mine is pink!" She added. "Red!" Jane said. I hummed in response. "I'm sure you could take amazing selfies with it. Say, would taking illegal pictures of someone's room be fun?" I teased. They were confused until we began running with her phone in hand. Penelope gasped. "GIVE IT BACK!" She shouted. They chased us and we instantly ran to the principal's office. Alice slammed the door and locked it. A firm-authoritative voice cleared his throat. We turned to see Principal Saltzman. "Girls, what's the meaning of this?" He asked. Alice inhaled a deep breath. "Mr. Saltzman, there's something you need to know..." She trailed off.

After explaining, Mr. Saltzman suspended Penelope and her clique for a whole month and deleted the pictures. Our parents got word of this when Bernard picked us up. I'm relieved we stopped her but all I felt like was a clueless dummy. Someone knocked on my door. I frowned while leaned against the headboard. "Come in." I called. It revealed Bella. She smiled. "Hey, can I sit with you?" She asked. I quickly nodded. She sat beside me on the bed and rubbed my hand. "How are you?" She asked. Tears were threatening to escape. I sighed sadly. "It's my fault Bels." I muttered. She nodded her head no. "It isn't your fault Breanna. Those girls cared about popularity instead of being your friend- I cut her off. "Not only that, they'd thought I was a baby because JoJo Siwa is for babies." I cried. Tears managed to fall from my eyes. I've never met anyone in my life who said awful things about my JoJo obsession. Of course, it was usually Jace but that's normal. She scoffed and held my hand. "You are not a baby. A baby doesn't wear bras, learn fractions or dance as amazingly as you. Don't let their words define you. I understand how you feel. It's not easy being a kid of a celebrity. Kinda weird if you ask me. People practically staring at you like royalty. But Mom is right. The best solution is to be yourself. Never live up to other's expectations. Even though my song's popular, it doesn't make me higher or better than anyone." I advised. I sighed. "Guess this means I'll need to be aware of people befriending me sometimes." I muttered. She nodded in agreement. "Cause of our parents or your last name. But don't push people away. You'll find a couple friends who'll accept you and love you for who you are." She continued. Bella is the greatest! Greatest sister ever. I'm thankful I have her to come to if Mom's busy. I smiled warmly and hugged her. "Thanks Bella." I said. She hugged back. "No prob sis." She said, smiling. "Hey Bella, can I ask you a question?" I asked. We parted. She hummed in response. "Can we renovate my room? Like we did with yours? It's time I move on from JoJo." I asked.
