(Cabin up top)
Lizzy POV
"Mom, I'm not sure if I wanna go. I'm not much of a camper." Breanna spoke. She carried her bag while following me to the living room. Jace was stuffing his duffel bag with snacks. "Is it because camping isn't your thing or it's Halloween and you're scared to go into the wilderness?" He teased, moaning like a ghost. She low-key growled. "Or I don't wanna be stuck in the wilderness with you and your doofus friends." She sassed. He nodded. "So it's because of you? Got ya." He said, smiling. I chuckled and rubbed her back. "Babygirl, it's a campsite. Nothing bad happens over there. Except if you don't ruffle your sleep bag, wear sunscreen, look out for poison ivy, use the bug spray—She cut me off. "What's worse? Jace and his friends or getting stung?" She spoke sarcastically. I fake smiled while making stretch poses. "Would you like to stay with me and Dad? Alone?" I asked teasingly. In two seconds, Breanna quickly shoved the bug spray in her bag and rushed to pour water from the fridge. I checked my wristwatch. Bernard's supposed to take them today. They never really take buses to school because it could get unsafe for them since the world knows they're our kids. Jace smiled excitedly. "Can't wait to camp! It's been a long time since I camped." He spoke. Breanna looked at him weirdly. "We hadn't camped before." She said. He playfully rolled his eyes. "Since Mom came by and said, Jace here's your little sister Breanna." He joked but in a serious tone. She stuck her tongue out. A chuckle slipped out my mouth. "Ok, got everything?" I asked, referring to the utensils. They nodded. Obviously, they'll be sharing a cabin with their friends. The campsite is like, a cabin house area, since the vice principal was chaperoning. I nodded. "Can you both promise me something?" I asked sweetly. Jace shrugged. "Sure Mom! What is it?" He asked. I sighed nervously. "Don't come home with chicken poxes, bug bites or in fact emails from your principal about any havoc you made." I said. Breanna sighed. "Why must you think we'll make havoc?" She asked. I nodded my head no. "I don't think, I know." I joked but in a serious tone. Jace hummed. "Really? Name one—I cut him off. "You filled the teacher's lounge of toilet paper, you've had two period accidents, you rode Tyler's skateboard during lunch, twelve year old girls took weird pictures of your room, and you both pranked your Aunt Lexi by dressing up as Michael Myers. Genius." I explained, winking at the last part. They looked at me in disbelief and scoffed. We heard a car honked. My phone buzzed. Bernard's here. "Go guys, he's here! Have a great time!" I beamed while kissing their foreheads and hugging them. They hugged back. "Bye Mom!" They said in unison. I helped put their sleep bags in the trunk. They waved. I returned the gesture as Bernard safely drove off and came inside after locking the door. I exhaled a deep breath before coming upstairs. Bella was home because of her doctor's appointment and probably chilling as I speak. What caught my attention was her door half-opened. I thought we made it clear she can't close doors because she could have seizures anytime. "Mommy!" She called loudly. Oh no. She'd never say Mommy unless...a bad seizure was approaching. I immediately opened and saw her criss-crossed on the bed. Bella was taking deep breaths. I walked up to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Are you ok?" I asked a bit worriedly. She nodded slowly. "It's coming, mommy." She muttered. I barricaded the pillows around her and behind her head as she laid down with her legs upwards. She was already beginning to black out while turning her head left sidedly. I rubbed her hair soothingly, pulling out my phone and began timing it. There would be sometimes videos to show the doctor. Her eyes began blinking rapidly, her mouth going wide.
It went another a few seconds until she finally calmed down. I stopped the timer and opened the window. She must be feeling hot. A yawn escaped her lips as Bella looked around groggily. I caressed her hair and rubbed her arm. "Are you ok?" I asked. She coughed, clearing her throat. "Huhbbhhvv." She mumbled in a gibberish tone. A water bottle was on her nightstand. I helped her sit up and handed her the bottle. She drank a few sips before laying back down. "Do you wanna sleep now?" I asked while rubbing her arm soothingly. She responded with a 'mmm' and turned sideways and fell asleep. I put her robe over her body and walked out.
