Leo's pov

It was humiliating to be yelled at in front of Corbin. I didn't want him to think that I was weak and incapable of doing anything on my own. Such as standing up for myself.

I felt bad for abruptly ending our date so suddenly. I wasn't supposed to work today, and I told him as much. But I ended up having to leave the date early. We were having such a good time! He even kissed me!

I was relieved when Corbin had stepped in during Trey's lecture. When I noticed him behind me, I felt safe. Even though Corbin is most definitely scarier than Trey, I knew he wouldn't hurt me.

The moment Corbin was gone; Trey resumed his yelling. He was annoyed that I took a long time to get to work (despite the fact that it was less than fifteen minutes!). Thank goodness Corbin drove me, or I would've taken double the time to get here.

Trey was demanding I make one of his horrible drinks. I've been dreading work since my last shift. I can't simply forgive him for what he did. He put his hands on me, for god sake. That's unforgivable. He's pushy and gets away with everything. Even if I spoke to the police, he would sweet talk them into letting him walk free and uncharged.

His people skills are akin to 'fake it till you make it'. I couldn't possibly risk my job over something like this. When I graduate in a few months, I'll have to pay rent and everything like that on my own. I'm sure Mia will help, but she might end up moving in with Chloe anyway.

If I don't hold this job, then I'll be fucked for graduation.

Currently, Trey was stalking around his office. He's gotten into a habit of drinking alcohol at work while drowning himself in caffeine as well. He's really throwing his heart for a loop.

I was mixing Trey's drink when I heard the doorbell jingle. My eye's landed on Corbin's beach guy looking friend. Dylan seemed concerned when he approached the counter.

"Hi, do you know what you'd like to order?" I asked him as he stood before me.

"Medium black coffee, please," He spoke while taking out his wallet. When he pulled his debit card from his wallet, he glanced at me with a weird look. It was as if he was analyzing me. I smiled and gestured for him to sit at a table. He walked off and took the closest table to the front counter.

Trey tensely left his office with a face void of any emotion as he came behind the front counter to grab his drink. I froze where I stood. I didn't want to get into any accidental altercations with him. There's always a chance he'd get mad at something as little as me bumping into him.

Without saying a word, he took his drink from the countertop and walked to his office. I relaxed and finished brewing Dylan's drink. He was leaned back in his chair, with his arms crossed, and facing where I had just come from.

He kept a careful eye on me as I approached. I politely handed him his coffee.

"Do you need anything else? I can get you anything you'd like," I offered.

"No, just staking out for a while," He said pointedly. I nodded and returned to the register. Dylan appeared to be busy on his phone by the time I looked back at him.

An hour and a half passed, and Dylan hadn't left yet. He didn't even finish his drink. A medium coffee should only take a maximum of ten minutes to finish. He's being stalkerish. But it does make me feel safer with someone around. I doubt Trey would ever assault me in front of customers.

Even if he did, Dylan would easily be able to get him away from me. I shouldn't expect so much out of Dylan, I don't even know him that well. I trusted Corbin, and I figured that Dylan couldn't be much different.
