With dreary eyes, I woke to the uncomfortable tension of nothingness. I was encased tightly in Corbin's arms. I peeled myself away from him, sitting up in the bed. I was dressed in a large shirt that smelled like Corbin, and a pair of panties I had worn the night before.

I wish I hadn't woken up, since I remained sleepy. It was as if I was having a depressive episode. I've never had a case of sleep issues this bad before. My brain was working at thirty percent, while the other seventy percent was either unconscious or wallowing in self pity.

I rubbed my forehead, trying to clear my head and wake myself enough to stand. My limbs felt like a hundred pounds each, proving difficult in my ache to do something about how I was feeling.

I hung my legs over the side of the bed and made contact with the floor. The cold wood gave me a sense of reality as I pushed myself up to stand.

Falling back onto the bed, my muscles screamed in disapproval. My butt and thigh muscles were aching, accompanied by a shooting soreness up my back.

I whimpered as I struggled to stand, using the nightstand to steady myself. I hobbled my way over toward the door.

I just couldn't bear to be stuck in this room. I needed fresh air, and maybe some TLC.

I looked back at the bed, and saw Corbin sleeping peacefully. I wanted to get water, but I didn't want to wake him. I opened the door quietly and slipped out into the hallway. The lights were dim, but not completely off.

I hadn't checked the time, but I would assume it was still dark outside based on what I felt the time might be. The door shut, and I heard the clicking of the lock. I sighed and turned down the hall, heading toward the stairs, uncaring of the locked private room.

As I got closer to the stairs, the faint sound of voices caught my attention. Tiredly, I stepped down the stairs one at a time. My body groaned in contention for the long staircase.

I came to the base of the stairs and rubbed my eyes, looking up to see Sam and Erick.

"Oh, Leo, you're still up?" Sam called out.

Erick was leaning his back against the bar, while Sam sat in one of the stools. There was nobody else around, so I assumed the club was closed for the night... or day?

"No, I'm just thirsty," I replied flatly, rubbing the sleep from my eyes once more. I yawned into my hand, bringing tears to my eyes from the stretch of my jaw.

Sam sent Erick a look that I couldn't translate, then hopped down from his stool. "Take a seat, I'll get you a glass," Sam offered.

I sat in a stool a few seats down from Erick since the man's gaze made me feel inferior.

Sam poured a glass of water and placed it in front of me. "Where's Corbin?" Sam asked with a softly spoken voice.

"Sleeping," I mumbled, bringing the cup to my mouth. I took a few shallow sips, then gave up and set the glass back down. "I didn't want to wake him,"

"I could go wake him for you," Sam suggested, walking out from behind the bar.

"No, he should sleep," I excused.

"He's responsible for your wellbeing, Leo," Sam argued, but in a kind way. He spoke softly, despite having an undertone of annoyance.

I sat in silence for a moment, simply staring off into space. Sam sighed, waiting for my response. I knew I had ruined whatever moment he and Erick were having when I came downstairs.

I should've just stayed out of their way and remained upstairs.

"Can I go to the bathroom?" I asked with a choked voice.
